Dont care a ton for Spaling but I like what Harrington brings to the table, I think he will get better too.

Johnston has neutered most of the top players. They play extremely conservative which is good for Rob Scuderi, no real difference for Malkin, and really bad for many like Crosby and Letang. Good goaltending is the only reason Johnston still has a job.

Harrington was always viewed positively. Dumoulin has been surprisingly good too. Spaling was viewed as perfectly average and easily replaceable.

What we need is clarity on Nylanders ELC, the slide rule only makes sense if the player is going back to junior or back to Europe.
Not if he's burning a year of that contract.
