The most likely scenario is Girardi becomes healthy and enters the lineup on a permanent basis and McIlrath/Boyle continue to rotate in as the 6th D.

It really would bother me if they started taking McIlrath out of the lineup again.

I'll have a big problem with that. I just prefer to remain in denial that they will actually do it.

No matter what, Girardi is here until the end of this season. No matter what.

They can't buy him out until the summer, he has absolutely zero trade value at this time even if he didn't have a NMC and because of the NMC, they can't send him to Hartford.

He's here, they aren't going to healthy scratch him into trading him. Who the heck is going to want a 31 year old Dan Girardi with 4 years and 22 million on his contract still to go after this year?

The only sensible plan is to let him get 100% healthy and then probably rotate him and Boyle in and out of the lineup.

I have faith in him, I fully believe that he'll get healthy and shut the advanced stats junkies up

No but K. Lowe, J.Beukeboom, A. Graves, E. Tikkanen, M. Messier, C. Mactavish, G. Anderson must've counted for something towards that Stanley Cup championship.

The Oilers got a lot of good players back in the various trades, I'm sure you'd still do Doug Weight for Tikkanen and Todd Marchant for MacTavish any time.

Bernie Nicholls was one of the best players in the '92 playoffs as well, aint my fault you traded him to Jersey

I don't understand why people still debate this stuff from 20 plus years ago. They won the cup, get over it.
