But we need short term bodies to cover Mac and Virt. Kassian could fit the mold --- it may ne the only place in all of the NHL where he could be needed.

Seems like Hab fans are ambivalent about whether Kassian is getting conditioned or released. Some think that based on Bergevin's tone when he had the presser about Kassian going to rehab that he doesn't want him on the team at all

Would make sense to see if anyone wants to take him off their hands, and if not bury him in the A and see if he can turn things around

There really isn't any reason to believe he's an upgrade to the Ice Caps that have been called up:

Sven Andrighetto - 4 goals in 10 games, great possession numbers and blazing speed.

Daniel Carr - 1g, 1a in 4 games, plays a Gallagher like game with less skill and skating, but better size.

Charles Hudon - 2 assists in 2 games, plays a great two way game.

Montreal needs Kassian's size and hands combination, but there isn't much reason to believe he can bring what the kids have brought, even if he hadn't been injured and been in a substance abuse program. If he's claimed, more cap space. If he isn't, he can get work on getting back in game shape in St. John's. No great loss either way.

Honestly ---- and understand that I know nothing about the 'behind the scenes that created the Prust trade in the first place ---- we are trending downward pretty fast. Why not take a flyer on him. Treat him like a rookie in need of ice time and if anything happens to his sobriety, I do not think that his suspension costs against the cap.

Was the question of who was REALLY driving the truck ever answered? Early reports said he jumped out of the driver's seat and that his foot injury was consistent with someone in the driver's position and not the passenger.

Was that all put under the rug?

If Kassian played centre, I could understand, but we have capable wingers that could be called up. I liked Kassian, just appears he wasn't a good fit here, hard to fit in when guys around you are fitness freaks and you want to party. No to mention the number of veterans here who are all business/professional. If he didn't want to clean up his act here, with these influences around him, something has to change in his head.

Don't think it was ever answered. I never heard anything about jumping out of the driver's seat. Just that he ****ed up.
