Great Article Carol,
I can see alot of teams going to pick up Kassian.
Pittsburgh just lost Bennet to injury so replacing him is a must and I hear Chicago is looking for another winger.
I was hoping for Markstrom to get some time. |

I agree about Pittsburgh & Kassian. Could help or could add to the slow train wreck there. |

Seth Jones
Rasmus Ristolainen
Jacob Trouba
Hampus Lindholm
Morgan Rielly

I think him in Pittsburgh would just add to their already horrific team.
And when I say horrific I mean a team that is extremely underachieving considering the names they have on paper.
After the last few years Its boggling to say the words "Fleury is their best player" |

We got Prust for free basically.
Stoll was a plug we don't need irregardless of his draw %.
Struggle thru these times n use call ups til a sensible deal presents itself. |

Dissapointing to say that hes been the most consistent but malkin looks like he is picking up his game and who knows maybe kassian is a changed man. |

Thanks carol.
'sixth place in the division by morning'...
Let's make this happen!

Don't really see a scenario where we can win in Minny tonight anyway.
We have a shot at a point in PHI but hopefully we have a jersey trading party instead that day. |

Nice list. Know what they all have in common? First round picks!
I honestly don't see any of these guys being let go, although something has to give with Jones/Josi/Weber all looking like legit #1's (lucky buggers).
Maybe, maybe they trade one of those three guys.
I think peg keep Trouba long-term over buf
Ottawa are always cheapskates, but RFA status keeps Ceci there a bit longer. |

Maybe is used by ppl not making a stand one way or another.
Reality is Kassian has never proven anything n up to him to mature
n wise up or he's done.
Maybe is Kassians middle name.
As for butthurt thats overused out to lunch new gen garbage.
Kassian wants to throw away a career that started in Jr with problems
is up to him. The clock is ticking.

Benning is tanking but we will call it a retool.
Problem is we are not as good at tanking as Carolina Yotes Leafs |

Them too.
I wish Benning would just come out and say we are going to ride out this season and sick to drafting and development.
This way we wont expect trades and we can all get on board behind them of staying pat |

On Vrbata-Eller: There isn't much chance Marc Bergevin moves a young, versatile forward like Eller with term for an older rental in Vrbata. Especially since Vrbata has only been marginally more effective as a scorer this season. Montreal would need a futures piece to offset the age and lack of control.
On Prust: The biggest considerations for moving Prust were cap hit and budding depth, especially on LW. Neither of those situations have changed, so its unlikely there's interest from Montreal to get Prust back, as much as he was a good locker room guy.
On Kassian: The talk from Montreal is that he's not close to game shape yet. Any team that considers picking him up needs to consider that he'll constitute a dead roster spot for a time. Montreal is likely sending him down so he can work his way back to game shape without hurting the team. |

Cheers, that seems pretty on point. Isn't Prust a center not a left wing though? Either way, I see your point. |
