Yeah, no.
I don't count Stamkos as a generational talent either.
Very good player, don't get me wrong. Would love either on my team, i just consider 'Generational' to literally be a once in a generation type player
Gretzky
Lemiuex
?Lindros
Crosby
Ovi
Connor (although yet to be seen, but all indications appear to point that way).
Players that wow, put teams on their backs, win Stanley Cups, represent at every level, etc. - dbot
Not yet |

That's fair. But this generation is pretty different than those of the past Benn/Crosby/Tavares/Toews/Mcjesus/Ovi... for me the easy choice is Toews but Tavares is honestly #2 to build a team around for me. The guy is a true leader and produces like crazy consistently. Non of the drama, just a pro's pro. I'll be cheering for the Isles come playoff time(until the Nucks are a playoff team again).
Edit: I'm not including D or goalies to avoid this being too ridiculous a thing to say. |

1. Auston Matthews
2. Jacob Chychrun
3. Matthew Tkachuk
Weber is going to put the team on his back and take us into the top 3
Will undoubtedly be in the discussion for the The King Clancy Memorial Trophy. |

Vantel,
Agree absolutely, not his fault.
There is no defence tonight.
Poor guy just needs to be pulled so he doesn't get his confidence crushed |

Canucks have 4 players on their top 6 that don't belong. Don't expect different results |

I don't mind losing, but i need to see effort.
That was...i don't know what that was... - dbot
It takes effort to get a top 5 pick. |

I agree but do you want to put Markstrom in to face the firing squad? |

I dont think connor should be in that list at all. Every year oilers pick 1st you hear the same crap....this dude is the messiah blah blah ...name 1 that actually done anything other than suck. this 1 got pushed more than the rest, but still... brainwashed public.
otherwise your list is very good.....and I agree, a player that can lift the whole team |

Unfortunately that is the only option unless we want Miller to pull a Patrick Roy |

There has been three generational players in the past 50 years, Orr, Gretzky & Lemieux. |

Do you think Linden and Benning still think this team is contender for a playoff spot?

That's an opinion I've heard quite a bit, here is my thought. I watched Greztz and Lemiuex, but not Orr. Gretz and Lemieux were unreal, no doubt. But the goaltending was atrocious, let's be honest. I think that the game has never been as skilled, big and fast as it is now. I know it's hard to say, but I honestly think those guys get half the amount of points in today's game. |

I think that what just to sell tickets, they know the other teams and we don't have a Toronto market where you can rebuild for 40 years and people still pay 300 bucks for tickets |

OK so if winning etc and rare talent is a big factor than price, luongo and hasek could make the goalie department of that list. All 3 had those abilities to carry a team |

Ohhh don't be like that!
There's still another period, ample time to pot another 3 or 4 on Miller.

I would agree with that IF it's him thats creating this...by his play Id say no. The D is awful, so its probably whose feelings got sandpapered by his comments. Looks like 1/2 the team. |
