Good write up, Mr. Spiegel. Last night was shocking to say the LEAST. In the 1st period I was all but sure we would go down by 3 goals and the game would be over. When Smith scored early in the 2nd my exact tweet was "how the hell are we winning this game?". What's interesting is this wasn't a 2-1, squeaked out, defensive victory. Despite all the injuries, we kept going for the throat and wanted more goals. I think the biggest elephant in the room last night was not having Bolland out there. Him not being out there REALLY opens the line up back up, and I would much rather play a Corban Knight, who went 6-2 on face offs and was skating his heart out than a slow, error-prone Bolland. Guys like Knight and Shaw hopefully lead to a Bolland buy-out this off season.

One guy I am not impressed with is Grimaldi. Sorry but I just cannot wrap my head around him being an NHL player. I really want him to be but I just can't see it.

Good to see Huberdeau and Barkov playing so well. I know a lot of us here want to see Huberdeau traded for a more offensive force, but it really doesn't appear that will happen. He has chemistry with Barkov and you can't ignore that. Our top two lines have to be the lines that carry the offensive load for us. Secondary scoring is fine but we need two lines that we can "bank on". One name that some people think Tallon is trying to dangle is Brandon Pirri. Take that for what it's worth; but it was something mentioned by Bob MacKenzie so that's as official as it gets, really. Someone earlier suggested we were interested in Skinner from the Canes but the asking price is just stupid and includes Lawson Crouse, apparently. No thanks.

The Bjugstad injury is scary. Apparently he has been suffering from debilitating migraines. Tallon said yesterday, though, that Bjugstad had a good day and was feeling better.

LASTLY, I like what Olsen brings to the team over Petrovic. He is a more offensive-minded player and we need more of that on the back end.

Hearing Bjugstad's injury is migraines and they can't find what is causing them. Not a very good scenario for a hockey player and this could be a very big concern for the future of this kid. Hopefully it's nothing more serious but I assume since many tests were performed that if it was it would've shown it.

On a brighter note, Panthers played well last night and got a big win against a good team. Also it looks like the Panthers are getting a new logo and uniform.

I said the same. If there was something serious causing it, I imagine of the MRI's, x-rays, CT's would have shown it by now, right? A concussion seems to be the likely culprit and who knows where/when it happened. Trocheck is playing well as #2 center so let Bjugstad heal.

Thanks for the input. I think trading Pirri right now would be premature. The guy can score and when he starts one of his red hot streaks that could be the difference between playoffs and not. But Tallon is desperate for that 40-goal scorer so we shall see. I like Olsen as well but I think Petro will prove to be the better overall D man in time. But thankfully neither are proving to be a liability right now.

Regarding the uniform, yesterday they revealed that while red will still be the primary color, the "yellow" will be more of a "gold" and we will have horizontal stripes much like the Habs. The logo will be similar to the 101st airborne crest (Google it if you haven't seen it) and instead of the "jumping panther" we've had since inception, it will simply be a panther head. Totally different.

Nice win. Lou was the difference in the first. I said if the Panthers score first this game is over. You have our number lately

Supposedly happened in practice in St. Louis. He was completely fine in the locker room in Detroit the day before. At least he appeared so.

I like Olsen because he's a shoot first guy. I like that he wants the puck on net. He has some defensive liabilities but, for now, like you said they haven't hurt us. I'm not for or against a Pirri trade, but if the right deal comes along I'd be OK with it.

Problem is will it ever heal? These are migraines which could be caused by concussions or something else possibly.

As far as trading for a scorer, I would do it in a heartbeat for someone like JVR.

That's right, I remember now. He was sent home after practice in St. Louis.

Well, again, Tallon said he was having some better days lately and he was day-to-day.

I think Toronto would trade JVR for some picks and/or prospects and I'm surprised with all that's happening(injuries, lack of scoring most nights) DT isn't making it happen. I think this is a make or break year for him as GM as far as making playoffs go and with the team right in the middle he should go all in.

Nah I wanted Eberle before but he takes days off and is soft. Plus you clowns will probably ask for one of our core D like Guddy or Kulikov. Not worth it.

Not exactly that easy. Plus, I don't see Doug Cifu or Viola firing Dale regardless of what happens.

Flames it is then!

Seriously though, I always thought the Oil and Panthers would make good trade partners.
