Ive only heard of hamonic.....never seen him. seems lots like him.

fill me in?

- SMBDragon

A very good site for grabbing numbers is sportingcharts.com . It gives you individual stats on every player.

Harmonics numbers are similar for points. Hamonic is plus 25 on take away / give always Tanev is minus 18.

Hamonic 100 hits Tanev 13 .

Hamonic more PIMs tougher, more shots .

He is a legit # 2 D. Right now I feel we have a lot of 3/4 D trying to play #1. Great team guy. Good skater, shoots the puck on net, hockey vision to rival other top D in the league. The right situation he will thrive. Unfortunately he will be in Winnipeg soon.

if theyre interested in him that is. who knows.

Personally I'd like to see pedan kept and hopefully they can pull off a trade without too much subtraction....tinordi sounds good...and they can pull off a bigger trade for hamonic or equivalent then bonus.
This D needs a work over.

Tinordi is a bust. He would have been moved a long time ago if he held any value. Same deal as Corrado. Hamonic and Tanev would be base players but we would need to add. A lot.

Btw from the other day on pedans hits during the game.....I asked my nephew and he told me counted hits seem to be only when contact is made with the puck in immediate possession. that would explain a lot

If you look at Edlers numbers give always / take always pts per 60 min , he has very good numbers including hits shots. Tanev on the other hand should be in the AHL
- VANTEL

There's a lot more to being a good defenseman then you're give away / take away numbers. How about hits? Sound positional play? The ability to stand up at the line. Moving people from the front of the net.... Not trying to be an extra goalie when you should be taking a check. Oh and my all time favorite with Edler....the ability to get a shot from the point past the first blocker and actually hitting the net. He's below league average in all these areas IMO

This offseason draft/FA is huge for us to address D, I'm fine if they wait till then though unless its players for prospects/picks. Vrbata should fetch another 2nd I hope, maybe a 1st in a package.

What Ive seen is a player that hits and has size. Not the point getting type.

Tanev doesn't hit . Doesn't move people from the front of the net, doesn't shoot, doesn't stand up for team mates

He is a good positional player who sticks his stick out a lot.

exactly

Luckily we have had some good luck with recent prospects. Should help fill the void till benning restocks cupboards over a few years.

Not a fan of Tanev's game either. Hell about the only D I've enjoyed watching have been the call ups ....kinda sad really.

May of 2010 Dale Tallon took over a Florida team that was to pick 3rd overall, he also acquired the 19th & 25th overall picks that year. The next four years he picked 3rd, 23rd, 2nd & 1st overall. Then 11th overall last year.

So six drafts later he now his team first in the division and looking at a possible playoff birth. It's a long road ahead for Canuck fans....just sayin.

The way I see it were already 3 years in to the rebuild though. Thats why this year is so key with all the UFAs we have. A top 5 pick could go along way like the way the Sedins did.

Imagine what he would have done to the Blackhawks if we had traded him there.

What did he do other than score in an empty net, I've only seen a highlight of the empty net, then getting sucker punched while being held?
