You know, sometimes teams just aren't very good from the mismanagement of previous regimes or owners, see Chicago. I hate the word or thought of losing on purpose and IMO so does Trevor Linden, there's no tanking going on in Vancouver.

exactly my point yesterday, the players don't have to buy in, they are playing for their careers, who would hire any player that tanked? they are professionals, but ownership and management don't have to do anything to help the team and they're not.

Benning seems to make all his moves in the summer, he lays his cards on the table early, he's not doing anything IMO because he doesn't have anymore options available to him.

Yup no argument here. Next time we play LA dress a bunch of goons and send them all out after doughty and kopitar. Things will change quick around the league if you do this to one team.

Isn't that what the Nucks tired an entire season with Torts??? How did that work out again?

I have seen or heard three times today we are doing so bad because 3 of 4 of our top D are out.

Hamhuis has been horrible all year. Slower and many more give always

Sbisa? Are you friggen kidding me ? If he is a best defender we have bigger problems than we know.

Tanev? Tanev has 21 shots 13 hits . 1 goal . -18 giveaways.

This is the excuse that we are losing

We're losing because of injuries and lack of depth & talent...it's not a singular equation.

I disagree....they are not tanking in any form or fashion.
- LeftCoaster

I second this.
Playing the cards you were dealt is not tanking.
Tanking (imo) would be trading all vets for prospects/draft picks, playing rookies, taking on salary to acquire more assets, etc.

It's not as black/white as either you're going all in or you're intentionally tanking.

John Shannon

Canucks' fans won't be happy. No Supplementary Discipline for Kings' McNabb for his high hit on Henrik Sedin.

It doesn't matter why we're losing as long as we're losing, we're not tanking but we're losing, same result.

I was thinking the same thing.
If our strategy is going to be to retaliate (in any form, either in game, or get them the next game), we will be penalized and lose out as a result.

If we want to emulate the strategy of cup winners (Chi and LA) then we need to do that game in, game out, not just in response to certain teams.

As long as we're chasing, we won't win.

Actually winning matters. But we can't win with what we got, so right now losing matters. Good job, JB.

For years and years Chicago and LA have gone out to injure the twins. They no there is no pushback from the rest of the team . Nolan , Brown , and now McNabb have all targeted Hanks head. Bolland and Keith go after Daniels head. Canucks the spend a good chunk of the game trying to retaliate the guy that hit them and lose focus on the game. This has been part of Sutters strategy as well as Coach Q.

Sometimes you have to go over the line. Maybe it is time to send these two teams a very clear message , you go after our star players we go after yours. I am sure Sutter would think twice if Kopitar had to miss a stretch of games because of a well placed knee on knee. Kane could be out weeks with a Charlie horse.

They are targeting the two star players of the Canucks by going after their heads. Canucks have been always a big threat to both teams, so targeting our stars has been part of their strategy.

Totally agree. I don't care if it costs us a 10-15 game suspension messages need to be sent to both CHI and LA. Kudos to Biega for going after Mcnabb but someone should have fed him a stick in the mouth...maybe losing 3 teeth he will think twice.

Same with CHI. That's why it was so great when Torres ran Seabrook in the 2011 playoffs...you wanna act that way you will be treated as such.

Man it pisses me off that we stand around and let this crap happen. Sure Biega stood up and Pedan tooled Nolan...but we need to go after THEIR stars so the message gets across. Until then we will continue to be a doormat for certain teams.

Hamhuis has had a rough year. I don't see a big downgrade putting Biega in as a replacement. I might even imply that he has been better than Hamhuis .

Sbisa is an adventure. He has settled down but at best he should be a number six.

Tanevs numbers are staggering . Botch called him the Canucks best Dman . If he is that explains a lot. We need an overhaul and upgrade on this weak D

I never said retaliate . I said initiate. If you are retaliating you are already too late

I think you're off-base here. What I meant was, losing with integrity matters. Winning is on the opposite side of the conversation.
