Any chance the Canucks could unloan Virtanen from the World Juniors? - stonehead
I had a guy walk into my business today, wearing a Toronto Maple Leafs ball cap.
I asked him if he lost a bet. |

Two top three picks, with the right choices, would start us on our way.
If only the Sedins would agree to go on a Cup run - LeftCoaster
That the hard part for the Canucks. It is hard to imagine that a contending team could take on both the salaries, and I don't see them going to separate teams. Imagine the return for the Canucks though! That would be a massive boost for the future of the team! |

The Leafs are my albatross. It is a tough burden to carry sometimes. |

I think you're off-base here. What I meant was, losing with integrity matters. Winning is on the opposite side of the conversation. - LeftCoaster
Sure it matters. And for the record, I didn't intend to say we were deliberately tanking. I think the team is trying hard, but it's becoming quite obvious we don't have near enough to win. The best thing for this team right now is to lose and lose a lot, and all the better if it's with integrity. We need a top three pick. We're way overdue for a number one.

Lazar went pointless in his first 3 games last year. Jake was on the ice for both regulation goals for team Canada. Pump the brakes |

I hope you are right. I am not a Virtanen hater. I thought he would dominate. Hopefully Canada gets it together. |

Not trying to be a smart ass, but, as a 50 year old man, I would have given up by now!!! Damn straight |

I couldn't even imagine not even seeing at least a Cup finals in the past 50 years, I'm not sure if your faith is blind or commendable?

He has been a mixed bag for sure. His intensity (which I believe was questioned at some point in the last year) just seems to be lacking. A lot of gliding for a guy that should be used to a quicker pace and making things happen. The ice surface is bigger but I still think he needs to get dirtier more often. His 3rd period was much better when he was getting more physical in front of the net |

It's true. There is no rational reason not to have jumped off the ship yet. Maybe I had some form of head trauma when I was younger. |

Maybe it's because I haven't seen them in a Cup final. Just making the playoffs seems like something an inspirational film should be made about. |

I brought in two FATHEAD Maple Leafs Massive sticker sets 4 years ago At my shop.
They're still here. Every team has sold except them.
Figured their would be a few ML fans around here.

There's too many here on the island because there's a lot of transplanted older retired Ontario folks, they grind my gears |

Retain 50% of both sedins salary, not only would we still be good on cap space, but itd increase the return for the Sedins, if only |

I saw Aquilini say in an interview last summer that he's learned the success or failure of the club doesn't lie with him, it lies with the people he hires. That said, it's all on Linden and Benning in my mind and they've said publicly they're not going to trade youth for short term fixes.
Call it what you will, but they're just going with what they've got and letting the chips fall where they may because they don't have any more cards. - LeftCoaster
Botchford said on the last road trip when they lost FA went into the dressing room and talked to the players. He said FA is still very much into the mix which is very unusual for an owner.
He said that this morning on the team 1040. |

Yes I read that too, doesn't mean anything, could have said "keep your chin up boys, dealing with lots of injuries".
I maintain my stance he's going to let Linden and Benning steer the ship. Trevor said that's what he wanted and that's what was agreed to. |

Seems pretty plausible to me that he just went in to wish them all a Merry Christmas. |

If it was after a loss that would have been a week too early |

It seems pretty outlandish that he'd go in and say anything to them about what management or ownership in thinking in terms of the future!! |

I don't know FA's schedule. I wouldn't be at all surprised if he went somewhere hot for Christmas.
Wouldn't his kid be old enough to be in school ? |
