thats what sports is about on the fan side...dreaming, having something to cheer for and stand for aside from boring "save the crickets" stuff we get in canada. It unites people too. Like team canada at the olympics....every canadian hugging each other after wins and during the run. Its a wonderful feeling.

And here in canada hockey is our religion. So blind devotion is no different than believing in a god or santa.

Life would be kinda boring without sports....maybe those terrorists just need to watch sports for something better to do?

The point is that you're reading too much into it. Like I said, it's entirely plausible he wished them a Merry Christmas as much as anything else. I know the president of a company I worked with usually came in 1-2 weeks before Christmas......not Christmas eve.

That I recall from the press conference during his hire. Linden may have said something similar too but I cant say for sure

If you're an owner of a company, it doesn't seem that crazy to come into the office from time to time to check in or shake things up in an attempt to get butts in gear.

I think peoples interpretations of involved are different. I have no problem with him coming in to the room at all. Esp if there is inspiration to be handed or dealing with drama that needs to be sorted out.

I do have a problem with him trying to force a GMs hand....like he did with both nonis and gillis. Both had words to tell him to stay out of it.....gillis went very public with that towards the end (part way through the torts season tank). So the torts hiring had 1 very positive effect, it showed FA he doesnt know better and the team is best left to someone who does.

Daniel and Henrik are too good for us to be complete poop and I question their ambitions in the league now, because they obviously know that they wont be winning a cup unless they move.
