We are in 22 nd and dropping, how much worse could it be . We will probably be 24/25 by the begining of next week - VANTEL
Yeah, great environment to bring young rookies into.
The Oilers model. |

Are you suggesting they don't bring anyone in for the next 5 years because that is probably how long we will be on the bottom |

Yes life is certainly better in Texas where everyone carries a gun. Don't mess with with Texas I guess - VANTEL
You mean where his brother plays, where the team is among the best in the league? Not everyone in Texas carries a gun, just as not everyone in Vancouver is a pot smoking hippie. |

I'm not interested in change for the sake of change, I'm interested in change for the sake of improvement. If these guys equal an improvement then I'm all for it. I haven't seen them as an upgrade yet. - 1970vintage
That's because I have a better eye for these things than you, but I'll keep using your wine suggestions |

I'm suggesting we don't move half of Utica up here for the sake of speeding up the rebuild. |

I would offer him a very decent contract seeing he is currently better than any of our Dmen. No hometown discount - VANTEL

True only 36% of the population owns guns in Texas.

Fair enough, I suppose that your experience in high level hockey does give you a better sense, plus, you probably watch much more then I.
There are a couple Spanish gems on store shelves right now for under $20. Mature wines (2005/2006 vintages). One Carinena, the other Tempranillo blend.
http://www.bcliquorstores.com/product/618355
Can't find a link for the blend, but I think it was $15.49 plus tax. I also really like the Juan Gil Monastrel from Jumilla for $19.99+. |

We are talking about moving one or two , not half , to replace one or two that are not NHL quality players anymore.
Check wins /losses numbers when Higgins is out .
Gaunce 2 games 1 goal
Higgins 22 games 2 goals |

Dwight King leads the league in points/game at 2.00, he must be better then Higgins and Gaunce combined! Oh, and he's better then Patrick Kane as well |

I'm not a Higgins fan.
You have been advocating waiving veterans and trading the Sedins for quite a while and replacing them with players with little to zero NHL experience, as a fast track to improve. You act as though management are sitting on their asses doing nothing to improve the team.I don't see a lot of player movement league wide. You act as though Higgins and Burrows are simple assets to move.Apparently, no one wanted Higgins this summer and Burrows contract is too expensive, even for hair-pulling & eye-gouging. You are the master of twisting peoples words. I have pissed & moaned about Higgins for the past 2 seasons. |

First of all Marwood don't take this personal . You are a hell of a good dude. I want you to know I respect you a lot . So keep the emotions to hockey talk .
We sit at the total opposite ends of what we think should be done. I don't see any need for a Higgins on this team. I see other teams taking their junk players and boom on waivers.
Higgins is in fact a perfect player to keep on this team to get a high draft pick.
My style of hockey is a lot different than the current Canuck product. I don't think this team leadership is a good environment for the young guys.
This is a leadership that won't stick up for each other. They don't battle in the hard areas. They also have a very aggravating even keel attitude. Yeah we lost 10 games but it's ok.
I have heard the excuses and seen the same results year to year. I want change. |

My favourite part of developing players is when we rush them out into situations they aren't ready for and watch them fail and get benched. Then, we can call them a bust. |

Point taken . Still doesn't change the fact that you still have to get rid of a few Canuck players |

Change is good. Change for the sake of change not so much.
Things need to take their course in due time. |

As bad habits develop by the youth , from the mentorship .
What do you think Higgins is teaching the kids? We knew for two years he needed to be moved and yet here he is.
Canucks fans have been very patient |
