I love both of these guys. I can name maybe 12 guys who could be Canada's worse pkayer

I'm sorry I can't deal wih logic that paying 6 mil for a guy that has 2 cups , team captain , more goals and points than Higgins and Burrows combined.

There are a number of UFAs that I would chose over his bunch of vets.

I'd give Ladd a 6x5 with limited NTC to NTC if he would sign. But only if we can drop burrows/higgins salary to get him. Burrows was never a superstar player, ever. HIs 40 goal season and 4.5mil contract was all due to how good the sedins were. Burrows has never been more than a 2.5-3mil player in his history. Higgins was good when we got him, but obv his contract was 2 years too long. Ladd will probably be a good pick up for 4 years and probably regret the 5th IMO, but I would take it.

Absolutely agree regarding Higgins, and this season for Burrows has been Prust is overpaid too.

when I look at Vrbata, although I do want a high pick if we can trade him, I think he is about as high end as the talent we have seen the Canucks sign as a ufa, Hamhuis too as far as ufa dman go... it is not easy picking up higher end players. Too bad these guys are so old.

I was about to say I`d like someone with a bit more offense than Ladd, but I don`t think you can be too choosy, who else is available? just a bit leery of signing ufa's for term when they are thirtyish.

At this stage of the re tool giving Ladd 6 x6 million would not do much good.

Yes Higgins is playing poorly, If he was making 1 million less I'd be happy with his effort.

I don't think dismantling the farm is good for the kids.

This is a write off year, who cares if Higgins is taking up a roster spot. Burrows is now overpaid, I don't really care, it's not a big overpayment and if you look at all of the teams you will find one or two overpaid players.

In 6 or 7 years do you think that Ladd will still be worth 6 million?

Would you rather burrows at 4.5 for 2 years or brown at 6 for 6 years?

Every game I see Ladd play when things get greasy he is in the middle helping.

On of our very highest picks JV plays a hard greasy game and gets absolutely zero support from this soft team. How the heck can he play big when no one has your back.

I watched a twin get an elbow to the head the other night while the other twin stood around and watched someone 4 inches shorter than him come to his twin brothers rescue.

I don't know what all these vets are mentoring to the youth but we are in 22 nd spot this morning and games in hand are not in our corner.

This is why Pedan is getting so much talk these days . He is a freak to the usual Canuck . He is big , hits and fights. He is not that good but this is all new to a Canuck fan

Benning didn't sign those deals so your point is lost and irrelevant. You can't just make those contracts disappear.
