First of all our vets besides the Twins really aren't assets
I doubt if anyone is interested in Burrows or Higgins

I think there is mild interest in Vrbata Prust Weber Bart or Hamhuis. If we sell two we will be lucky

Benning knows this. Maybe the tank will be done through Willie and his personnel decisions. They say all the "right things" about winning and then let Willie roll his lines.

Is that JB's fault? No he was handcuffed coming into the job with many sh!t contracts. Hamhuis and Vrbata will garner interest. Prust might possible go back to Montreal for the pick we sent with Kassian. Weber and Bart are washes.
- thundachunk

It's hard to argue with a guy that campaigned to waive not only D. Sedin, but Bieksa as well.

Bieksa got a 2nd in the offseason, surely Hamhuis could get a 1st at the deadline.

I am a JB fan. I think he is doing it right.

I wish he would actually be more forceful to get rid of NTCs but I am in his corner

He went for it, as he should have.

He inherited a team that missed the playoffs 2/3 years and helped transform them into SC contenders.

This is exactly what's happening. He said we are too proud to lose , yet he has done absolutely nothing to fix the problem

I bet JB is getting a boner over a top 5 pick

Kipper was retiring and Iginla was asset management, I know it's splitting hairs but it's a fine line for me.

Tanking is moving established NHL players for futures and not replacing them with qualified personnel. It would be like The Cactus Club firing all their grill cooks and then opening for NYE with a 16 year old kid form the dish pit cooking steaks.

It's losing on purpose. The Canucks can move expiring contracts to contenders for picks without tanking, but they can't move the twins unless they're getting back a superstar...

He drafted so bad but he did leave the team with cap space when he left, Benning wrongly felt the team still had something left in the tank, so did I, so he made some moves that now, in hindsight, is hurting the club moving forward.

Bieksa got a 2nd because he agreed to sign for an extension.

Yeah. You're paying for it now, but it must've been a good couple of years.

You guys need to tank for sure. Like proper tank. No good getting a 4th, couple of 5ths and an 8th like the Leafs. Babcock will never allow us to get to that top 3 spot.

Nice little snapper by Sven. Did a good job of stopping the rolling puck.

I don't get what's so difficult about this. The Canucks can be terrible, and lose, and get a top 5 pick without tanking, and everyone would be happy (and by everyone, I mean Marwood, ASL and you)

So far I like his drafting, which is only 1/3 of his job but I understand where the team was at before he took over.

It really depends on if those guys can help you moving forward and what kind of return you get.

A guy like Hamhuis if he'll resign is going to help much more than a late 2nd round pick.

- golfingsince

We'll just have to agree to disagree on that one. Were not a playoff team for three years, that's about when Hamhuis retires if not earlier. Good asset management, tanking, stockpiling picks, call it fandoodling for all care. Just trade players for picks, preferable the highest we can get.

Um...that would be tanking.
- LeftCoaster

Except we still have all out good players....and were tied for the least amount of wins in the league ....#we blow....quit fooling yourselves
