As you guys have pointed out for the passed 5 years Kessel is an overweight, overpaid, lazy, selfish, one dimensional player. What in the flying (frank) did you want the Leafs to get for him?
Have we made any trades or signings? Well we signed about 40% of the FA's this year. Most of our team are signings. And finally, what trades do you suggest the Leafs make to improve? What do you think we can get for Reimer, Hunwick, Gardiner, Lupul, Bozak, Dion etc. Etc.
You're post holds little to no validity.
If you want to tank, don't be giving one of the best coaches in the world 50 million bucks. They could've let Horacek coach this year as well.
The Leafs are absolutely not tanking, much to the shagrin of about 60% of their fans.
Had Bernier won just of his first 11 games they would be in the playoffs (if tonight's results stay as is).
Somehow, with this make up roster, the Leafs are a poster for how not to tank - walshyleafsfan
(frank) me....the Leafs are not tanking, they trimmed some fat, addition thru subtraction, by getting rid of a one dimensional player. They are now coached by the best coach in the business, as proved by their new found structured game and commitment to a TEAM game, and they're moving forward with little talent...much the same as the Canucks. |

You traded Kessel for 4 players, one of which is a roster player the rest are prospects. Have you replaced him? No. Have you made any trades or signings that indicate anything other than finishing bottom five no matter what the coach and players do? no. tanking, well actuially IMO good asset management - neem55
Also, sorry one final thing, we look like we've replaced Kessel (and more) with Komarov and PAP. |

The Baertschi trade is "starting" I repeat JUST starting to look good...the Sutter trade he way-overpaid for him. But I'm ok with him as he's an upgrade on Boner for sure. - LeftCoaster
"Way-overpaid."
Do you miss Bonnino and Clendenning? I would say we won that trade easily. Generally the team that ends up with the best player wins. Swapping a low 2nd for a low 3rd is inconsequential |

Okay, they aren't tanking. They are just nose diving to likely back-to-back top 5 picks. The players they have signed are terrible. They have been trading for picks for two years, will likely deal Bozak or Phaneauf if they can but those awful contracts are tough to move. Nylander might make the team better, but they let him mature in AHL and let their plugs play... but you're right, they are not tanking. Cause they are playing hard and well-coached. |

It's a shame, it really is. Most of you guys actually know what you're talking about. Then one of you mention the Leafs and it's blah blah blah Leafs poop blah tank blah Babcock blah blah poop.
All of a sudden you drop to the IQ levels of Habs and Oilers fans and Spatso. |

The addition of Clendening is dumb, they could have recouped at least a third for him, that could be a good dman for the franchise in the future...yes he overpaid. |

So you want us to sign good FA'S (there's a plethora of them every year) and trade our poopty players for some really good players. (Are you RogerRoeper? ).
Well (frank) me, I'll send Shanny a memo of your plan |

No, actually I want the Canucks to do the same thing the leafs have done: sell their assets for picks. I thought that was clear. I think the leafs are tanking and that they should be, they need another top 5. |

How did the Leafs tank last year? - walshyleafsfan
It was one of the rare cases where the players did it themselves. They just stopped playing.
*what a goal Horvat, he's had enough looks tonight. *
