What do you get in return for Chara though?

Chara is horrendous with the puck but he is not the problem. He is still an intimidating player out there. He absolutely should not be on the pp or 3v3. I dont know why hes out there. Im sure he has to be in Claudes ear looking for PP time.

People crying out that he is not a good captain are ridiculous though. It doesn't matter if he has a C or A. (pretty sure it is in his contract to have the C anyways) Him and Patrice are the leaders. Its not a one man show. Krug also seems to be taking on a leadership role as well.

Overall, they are certainly more fun to watch this year and they can make some noise. Just dont show me Washington in the playoffs please.

Right now who knows what if anything you could get. Just making the point that two seasons ago we could have gotten a ton. That's the difference.

Many people on this board saw what I saw during the Hawks series. That was the time to make the move.

Then after the presidents trophy season getting bounced by the Habs it was GLARING...........

Now, after the injuries last season he wouldn't fetch much. Although maybe a contender gives us a first and second..........?

I'd do a first and second all day. I don't think that deal gets done though. I think there's something to be said about him retiring as a Bruin. Just out of respect for what he's done for the organization. I don't think he's a liability as much as a positive presence on the ice, but his TOI does have to decrease, and seems like it will. Only a couple more seasons of him, not a huge thorn in the side.

About the same as Lecavalier. Nothing and you get to pay 50% of his salary. He'll finish out here. No real trade to make for the B's as they're not in a position of strength in any position right now. Going to have to wait a season or so and hope they've made the right choices in Zboril and Carlo.

Don't forget Lauzon. He looks real good right now. The future of the D is bright, there's just gonna be a few awkward years here where Chara declines and the youngins aren't ready. If we're lucky Colin Miller steps up and becomes a stud but I could also see him being another Mike Green. Thank god for Tuukka during this transition, he'll cover a lot of those issues

I also like Cross. He may be nothing more than a 5-6, but I think he's decent and love his story
