What one of them needs to do is drop the gloves with whomever said it. Everyone has a breaking point. You want to end the lack of respect BS drop the gloves win or lose, you now have your respect. Complaints don't do sh!t. - thundachunk
Daniel dropping the gloves wouldn't do poop except play into what Thornton wants. |

I also don't have speakers at work. What was said? - micah555
Basically, they (Sedins) don't want ot talk about it anymore and just want to move on. They are not looking for an apology or an explanation or are expecting it. He asked Daniel if he said anything as he did a fly-by of the Panther bench after the goal. Daniel said"no I didn't say anything to them or anyone at the bench" Was asked if anyone said anything to him"said he would rather just move on"
Reporter was asked if anything was said had anything to do with a dead teammate. Reporter didn't conform or deny, as he doesn't know.
Basically, the Sedins are saying that what was said was really inappropriate and distasteful. But they would not comment further. Just want to move on. |

One career fight is all you need. So what if its Thornton or some other guy. I hate the old adage you're playing into what they want. There IS a time and place for it. |

It's far easier to sit back and talk about fighting then it is to step up and fight a guy that fights for a living. |

You are living in a fantasy if you think him dropping the gloves once would stop fans, players, media etc. from calling them weak or sisters or whatever. I agree there is a time and a place if they wish to but that wont magically make others from calling him out.
Semin fought but I don't think that helped his street cred, Sid has fought multiple times but still gets called a wussy. |

Getting the stick kicked out of him by Thornton would not prove anything. A two hander to the knee on the other hand. ..... |

Only want a short suspension. Groin shots are cheap no matter who it is to. Smack him in the knee or elbow will hurt like a son of a biz. Have to make sure he's out of the game though or else the Knicks dragged will beat the snot out of him. |

I don't agree with this theory. It is not easy to just drop the gloves and go for it. A lot easier said then done. Secondly they are finesse players. They hands are more valuable then their street cred. If they drop the gloves and try and punch someone and break their hand...everyone will be on their case for doing that. It is not their job.
NHL is a team game. There are players with specific roles. The teammates need to step up. If your best player is getting harassed then you have what is called a teachable moment.
The issue in Vancouver is the past regime had always preached patience. No after the whistle stuff. Don't go for the revenge, but instead take the PP. That kind of teaching is rooted too deep in this team and needs to be weeded out.
There is a reason that only the new players are stepping up now, they didn't have the AV exposure.
Look at how Rangers are playing now. They have lost the snarl. Even guys like McDonough, Nash, Brassard. their hits and PIMS have dropped since AV took over. I have always hated that part of AV's game.

The last two years the Sedins have been in the scrums and have even punched others with their gloves still on. Being afraid of it is one thing , not believing in it is another.
I don't think they are cowards, they have nothing to prove anymore. They are closing in on HOF careers. If Marchand did hit , they would hit back. They have the right to chose their ending . We need to surround them now instead of them taking care of us |

#tradevalue.
Top 100 scorer Sedin twins that everyone thought was weak and soft, is now talked about as very durable, ambassadors, standup guys, Skilled, grit and still performing. I think their trade value just added another 1st...but too bad we are in a market where it is more about the name on the back and not the crest on the front. I might be in the minority here, but we fans are very fickle. Right now everyone is talking about how great the Sedins are and any mention of trading them will get you chastised. My take is their trade value will never be higher. Trade them now and get a boatload and get them back after their contract expires for 1 year at 2-3 per to play on the 3rd or 4th line. #dreams - Linden_4_Capt
I hear what you're saying and understand the logic, but mgmt obviously has a different pov.
At this point i feel fine if they play out their careers as Canucks and ride off into the sunset, or ask for/receive a trade in their final year.
Don't expect to happen any sooner. |

Per Dave Tomlinson: The comments directed at the Sedins had nothing to do with the reported "Sedin Sisters" or have anything to do with "I have a stanley cup ring and you dont". It was MUCH WORSE than either of those statements in the past. - Codes1087
Obviously.
They have been hearing chirps like that since they entered the league and really, that's not much to get fired up about imo.
Either way, the Sedin's are moving on and so am i.
The scrum was good to see, but i'm glad that 'what is said on the ice, stays on the ice'
Just another indication re: the class of the Sedins |

So (frank)ing true. I have a few teeth in my mouth that were made for me. A reminder of poor decisions. If I knew what I was getting into I would still have all of my own teeth. |

Panthers announcer apologized for his comments following the game
"My choice of words at the conclusion of the Vancouver game on Monday should have been more appropriate," (Potvin) said in the statement. "In the passion of the moment and under the circumstances of how the game ended, they came out wrong. For that I'm going to extend my sincere apologies to Daniel Sedin, Trevor Linden and the Canucks organization."

After looking at top 100 pt list, a few things jump out.
Who the F is Neal Broten?
#98 all time, American Forward from the 1980's? Never heard of him.
Also. Ray Ferraro had a much better career than i would have guessed. #106 all time currently.
Jagr is immortal. - dbot
Neal and Aaron Broten were awesome. I was a north stars fan for a few years growing up, loved those guys...and Jon Casey |

I play hockey with his son and Gary took me out in Victoria this summer fishing, there is a guy who makes replicas and sells them. Gary is one of the nicest humans I have ever met, he tells the kid he wants no money for the replicas just "make a few bucks for yourself". He has great hockey stories too !! |

its been said before that vrbatta isnt liked by the sedins. Apparently they said last year they dont want him on their line.
dorsett may be on their line next game to prevent fallout from the florida game. There will be players looking to peeve them off and get them off their game. Although it looks like it backfired for thornton....just made danny play better |

I have been saying this same thing for quite some time. They learned esp during the boston series they have to just take it or suffer penalties.
AV still has his stamp on this team. They still play his retarded offensive system. Time to get this team played different than they have been the last 10 years.
Btw its a credit to the talent of these players that they succeeded all these years with a flawed system of play under AV.
Problem is that system is a playoff nightmare...easily gets picked apart by opposing teams coaches. LA, hawks and calgary are prime examples |
