You make it sound like the team captain had the powers of Putin, it's working for him right? - A_SteamingLombardi
Regardless of what the ruble is trading at, I'm sure it is in his own mind. |

War is good for our economy, sadly. As an export country, that presently lives and dies with oil prices, we really need oil prices to come back |

I'm a team blue guy, that said, our dollar goes as the world oil prices go...and Canada has zero effect on world oil prices.
It's simply a product of world producers that can over saturate the market. Canada cannot get their oil to world markets because it's essentially land-locked. - LeftCoaster
This is a realistic solid post, I don't care what colour anyone supports, it's the closed minded bias that burns, especially when posted as fact. |

Never does - VANTEL
thats because the bulk of riding is in quebec and ontario. Ontario is clasically RED so if quebec goes that way already its pretty much over |

Which is why the Blues needed to go, they wrapped our economy solely on resource exports which were bound to tank eventually. We need to diversify our economic base and start manufacturing things so that our dollar doesn't solely rely on high oil prices (which were unrealistic anyways) and lumber prices to keep us afloat. The high US dollar only benefits those that do business exporting to the US and getting paid in US dollars which increases their profit margins. For the rest of us, it means high inflation, low interest rates and eventually recession and unemployment.
Worse yet, like Lefty says, there's not much that can be done about it since it would take years to invest in the necessary infrastructure (with the necessary high deficits/higher taxes) to build up our manufacturing sectors to wean us away from solely being reliant on resource exports and the Canadian taxpayer has no stomach for short term pain for long-term gain anymore. Especially when any delays, cost overruns and corruption in the process of mega-projects instantly become scandals that destroy careers and governments in the internet age. |

We ve been needing a new transportation idea for a long long time...
I wonder if anyone in europe or US has looked at solar rooftops to help replenish electric cars. Imagine the distance you could go on those |

You'll be dead, questions to ponder with your children. Humans are incredibly adaptive creatures, future generations will figure it out. I'm not sure if the general population realizes everything that's actually made from petroleum. |
