Yzerman reportedly offering Stamkos an 8 year deal at $8.5M per.
As ridiculous as it is to say, good luck to that deal being enough to get it done. - kingcong39

$68M being a slap in the face is so disconnected from reality that it's hard to believe, but that said, I agree. |

Yea im feeling it too, most of the TO insiders are leaning towards this as well. Thing is at that kind of cap hit you wonder if he does more harm than good.
Paying a two way beast like kopitar big money is one thing, probably end up paying stamkos more for less (defense). It's not like they are short on offence in the system either. |

MY TRIBUTE TO CHARLOTTE:
Some of you have asked before, I today I finally figured in out.
Combine:
1 cup mayonnaise
1/8 cup white vinegar
1/8 cup apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 cup brown sugar
Let this sit and come together while you do the rest.
Cut three carrots into quarters, and peel the quarters into a big tupperware container until the just disappear.
Core out the really hard parts from the head of cabbage (white is best), and then cut up the rest into pretty small pieces. Put this in a pasta strainer, put on a half again as much kosher salt as you think is right, and let the strainer sit inside an even bigger bowl for an hour. The salt draws moisture out of the cabbage; that moisture will collect to be discarded after an hour. (if you put another bowl on top of the cabbage, with a can of soup or something like that for weight, its even better).
When the cabbage is done draining, put it in the tupperware with the carrots, mix it up, then pour the sauce over the top, and stir again. Present with thinly cut discs of california green onion on top.
This is Some Dynamite Slaw. |

I tend to agree. If anybody is worth $10M per, it's an elite level complete game like Kopitar or Toewes. If not, it has to somebody that produces so many points that it's impossible to ignore, like Kane this year. |

Doesn't Stamkos have the 2nd most goals to Ovechkin over the last 5 years or so? |

Honestly im not sure that's even enough for me. He insists on playing centre too. That's a lot to pay for a centre who can't play (well) in all situations. |

He has scored 88 goals over the last few years which has equaled two full seasons. That's around 44 goals a year.
Considering how we don't score goals I'll take him any day for 10 mil |

Why would you throw out coleslaw?
Not a true Buffalonian if you do not have it with your fish fry. |

I get that, but he could push 12 mil AAV in free agency. That's a lot of your cap to one guy with key RFA's due.
Maybe ottawa can repay us for lehner by giving us Hoffman at a discount. |
