Id really have to think about it. I get that he brings a lot offensively but paying him that would mean sacrificing a fair bit of depth which is a significant problem in the first place. 12 mil for stamkos, what does eichel eventually get? Risto? Reinhart? This doesn't even include any potential top pairing partner we get for risto either. It could create a very top heavy team, which is what we are right now.
- Sabresfan-365

I rather pay stammer 10 and a scrub 1 for 11 million then pay ennis and moulson the almost 10 million.

I agree that we don't need Stammer, but what we do absolutely need are goals, and he undoubtedly brings that in bunches
- sbroads24

To be sure we need goals...but to pay the number 1 FA for it? He isn't taking a 3 year deal, no one does...you want him, pony up for 7 years...that is the way it works in the NHL.
For $10m+ per year, we can do better and distribute the load for a more balanced team. I think we can secure a bonifide sniper this year in the draft if we are in one of draft positions 2 - 5 and pay the ECL for 3 - 4 years. Dump Gionta and Legwan and you have a lot of cap space to grab another in FA.
We don't need Stamkos, let the Bay Leafs invest all their money in one player.

He hasn't played well since he played with Risto? He even played fine while carrying a rookies load, certainly not perfect, but who on this team is?
- GilPerreault11

Not really. Granted you're correct that nobody on the defense is looking great in total out there but the key difference is that in say risto's case he's putting up the points and more importantly he's doing so at a younger age and about 4 mil less on the cap.

Let me use your logic from last night.

He plays big minutes with skilled players. Where is the production?

- sbroads24

See there it is, you are a stats whore and that shows ignorance. I played defense in college so I look at his whole game. Where is the whole Sabres' stats, goal scoring, production besides Eichel and O'Reilly? When they start to produce he will be a 7-8 goal scorer and maybe a 25- 30 pt D. He is not going to be a 1st line PP D so get that out of your mind.

MY TRIBUTE TO CHARLOTTE:

Some of you have asked before, I today I finally figured in out.

Combine:
1 cup mayonnaise
1/8 cup white vinegar
1/8 cup apple cider vinegar
1 teaspoon celery seed
1/4 cup brown sugar

Let this sit and come together while you do the rest.

Cut three carrots into quarters, and peel the quarters into a big tupperware container until the just disappear.

Core out the really hard parts from the head of cabbage (white is best), and then cut up the rest into pretty small pieces. Put this in a pasta strainer, put on a half again as much kosher salt as you think is right, and let the strainer sit inside an even bigger bowl for an hour. The salt draws moisture out of the cabbage; that moisture will collect to be discarded after an hour. (if you put another bowl on top of the cabbage, with a can of soup or something like that for weight, its even better).

When the cabbage is done draining, put it in the tupperware with the carrots, mix it up, then pour the sauce over the top, and stir again. Present with thinly cut discs of california green onion on top.

This is Some Dynamite Slaw.

Sent it to my self . Will give it a go and report back.

THank you.

If Ennis can regain form and pot 25 goals, I'd be cool with him staying here.
Also if we could get 20 from Girgensons in a 3C I'd be happy with that as well.

I'm not in favor of throwing $10m on one player...distributed scoring is a better approach.

Oil will be down for a while and not just because of winter. OPEC not cutting production and leaving the price low to make ours and Canada's production not worth while. So far it's working.
- sippyd

Yeah, definitely with OPEC I was saying that a couple weeks ago that they were doing it on purpose because we and Canada aren't in OPEC. I don't see prices bouncing back to $100 a barrel, but they should be higher than the $28 or whatever the price was last week in a few months.

Well you sell Myers as an offensive stud so I was pointing out his impotence. I never said or claimed Bogo was an offensive stud or a #1 D like you claim Myers to be. I just dont think he sucks like a few of you think. I think he is solid, that is what I say he is.

Problem is it costs over $3 a gallon to get the gas out of the tar sands . Till gas gets back there . Everyone is laid off . Alberta has had zero unemployment for 50 years . They went to 25% in no time. They also want to revive the film industry in Canada . The only way to do it is a really low dollar.

The most similar players I've ever heard of to Weber per Hockey Reference at the bottom of the page http://www.hockey-referen.../players/w/webermi01.html are Luca Sbisa and Deryk Engelland. Yikes.

Problem is we have so many guys producing at a below average clip right now. If I could infuse a 40 goal scorer into the lineup I would have to try

You posted this: Tyler Myers shows he's the Jets' top defenceman

http://www.winnipegfreepr...defenceman-363696651.html

And went on to defend it so if he is Peg's top D man, in your mind, then logic has it that he is a #1 D, no?

So, I wasn't making anything up.

Ok, this was fun, as usual.

Great but the cap hit will kill the team when it comes time to resign our rising stars.

It should get back there, we're seeing how bad cheap gas really is, and as much as everyone female doges about high gas prices, including me, it's even worse when they're too low. The Canadian TV and movie industry has been thriving for years now, granted Toronto has lost a few major network shows over the past 5 years, but that's just the nature of the beast. But Vancouver is the Hollywood of Canada. Anytime a TV show wants to show trees/forests, anything that's not a desert and scrub brush, or water that's not the ocean more than likely it's been shot in Vancouver.

No, I didn't but ok. I defended him as a top pairing player. As in being there #2. I don't love Myers as much as I used to, but at this point there is no question who's been better since the trade.

Yes, but not at a position of need. And at a cost that will impair our ability to maintain the position of strength and impair the ability to address the position of weakness.
