They've also had their share of injuries. We forget Bogo, Lehner, Kane and Ennis have had significant injuries. Now Reinhart and Nick D too. Guys don't exactly get back to 100% right away and the line chemistry has been all screwed up.

Aside from bogo I've never really considered those players to be part of the problem (injuries or struggles). The fact is the team isn't complete yet. I get that he's been better but Bogo is not a long term solution on the top pair. And depending on what they do with girgs, might need another guy in the top 6 (not as pressing as the top pair d-man issue).

but that would be "making a mockery" of the game, think of the integrity of past all star game legends.

I want to be angry but really they're playing as many expected. Still figure them for 75-80 pts for the year. Just hope they pile up the wins on national TV.

You expected bottom of the league in goal scoring? Mark Pysyk getting less minutes than Weber or Franson? Kane on pace for 35 points?

I expected losses, I didn't expect for this team to look like they still had 0 direction whatsoever

Individual stats no i thought we'd see more of pysyk and more from Kane. But yes I expected us to be bad all around that included scoring. The impact the D has on the O should not go unnoticed. Between being constantly stuck in their own end and not having enough good or great puck moving players it's not exactly surprising to see them struggle offensively. More often than not it's the same 4 or 5 players who generate the offense which would be ok if they could play 60 minutes.

They are not being blown out . They are on pace to have 20 to 25 points more than last year . Goals for are up , Goals against are down . They have lost 13 1 goal games, Lehner looks good already for not playing a full regular season game in a year, He has a long way to go yet. But we suck. Not going to happen overnight . We tore everything down the last two years and now we are trending up whether you want to acknowledge it or not.

Zero direction was last years team. The difference this year is they learned/know what they need to do but they don't have the personnel to execute it.

I dont consider that an indication of the defense being ok, that's two guys getting major power play time/points. That's not to say the forwards aren't an issue, especially in terms of scoring depth but you could solve a lot of those problems by adding a top pairing guy. Reduce everyone's ice time on D and makes risto even better.

Exactly what I am thinking. Especially with the cap probably going down if the Canadian dollar keeps going down . Moulson is a disappointment . I did not expect him to trend downward so quickly. I actually like Gionta in his third line roll. Would I like more - yes . But I am a realist it we are moving in the right direction .

Those standards are a reflection of the current product, not the overall rebuild. They're tending up that's good but they need to build on that next year and be better.

Did you really expect that everything would be set that quick please look at how many years the Hawks took adding pieces . This off season . Most of the holes should be filled and the pipeline will be restocked . They are much better than last year. Sorry it is not happening quick enough for you but it is happening.

And they made the conference finals in Kane's second season (Toews third), and won the cup the following one.

And our players we got rid of were not good enough so Mr Murray is attempting to do the same thing . The comparison is relevant whether you agree or not . It does not happen overnight! This is Reinhart's and Eichels's first season . Let's complain in their third season if we are not cup contenders.
