My sweet Coots.
Playoffs are really unlikely now with this development. Time to put some D men on the block. |

No offense Bill, but Ghost, Giroux, Voracek would destroy any of your other 3-3 combos. |

Couturier out for more than 5-6 games likely means that we are looking at a top 10 pick, and perhaps top 3 if we get some luck. As long as he can be 100% by the start of next season, I can live with it. They weren't going anywhere this season anyway.

I was at the latest Phantoms game against the little penguins. Hagg never has impressed me, and he just continues to look mediocre at best. Morin seems a ways off from the NHL as well. Not as physical as I'd like to see. MacDonald got out muscled numerous times. Cousins and Leier impressed me with their play. I really couldn't stand the fact that the team allowed a useless POS named Tom Sestito to try and bully smaller players and do whatever he wanted too physically. Why you didnt have a Rosehill activated against a hated rival, with a useless door stop like Sestito running your players is beyond me. |

Probably, though here are some others that could have done some damage:
mid 70's: Clarke, Barber & Macleish
mid 80's: Howe, Propp, Sinisalo
96-97: Lindros, Coffey & Brind'amour
03-04: Roenick, Recchi, Gagne
09-10: Giroux, Carter, Pronger

I'm sorta ready to pack it in as well. Hate to give up at the half way point, but we knew this was a rebuild when Hexy took over. Get A good return for Streit and Schultz. Buy out Umberger after the season. Let's start to funnel a few of the kids up for a look after the TDL. |

Looks like the phantoms dominated the weekend series against the baby pens. Sestito ran goulbourne right into their goalie for a phantom goal, so I'd say let them dress the goons. Morin and ghoul though young should provide enough muscle.
Hagg has been disappointing. Don't know if he has the style for north American hockey. He just doesn't seem to want to get his nose dirty. It's only going to be tougher to impress as the d prospects start to filter in |

All combos by Kyle's setup are 2F, 1D.

Yeah I would love a repeat of last years draft. Our own pick in the top 10 and another in the 20's for Streit. This year though I would strongly consider a package to move up.
I'd really like to see them keep the core in place, add Konecny to line two and get the best LW they possibly can for line one. |

Disagree. I think Team 80s would beat them 8 of 10 times. And most likely combos vs. Lindros would be a mismatch if 88 got the puck.... Good luck getting it off him. |

I'm really disappointed in our bottom two lines. Not so much the Bellmare line, but they were actually the 4th line and now the third has become the 4th. Do you think we try to acquire that LW in FA this summer? We have a bit of space now. Not sure who is coming available this summer that would be a top line guy. I think Ladd and Lucic are the top names out there. |

You'd never get the puck from Lindros. Sometimes I forget how dominate he was.
And desjardins is still the best most well rounded flyer dman I've seen

Love how a "maintenance day" turned into IR.
Well with Couturier out long term, the playoffs are now a pipe dream. Play some kids, trade some d-men for assets. And for the love of god stop playing RJ Umberger. |

One thing though. The continual play of RJ could effectively help with a better overall draft position. |

I feel like the flyers need some kind of veteran defensive leadership. If you trade Schultz and Streit who's left? |

The coaches to do their job.
So sick of hearing this tbh. Streit can't be on the ice with all the kids and its not worth turning down a 1st rounder for. There is Vet D available every offseason if need be. |

NHL locked Bettman up through 2022. Apparantely NHL brought Holmer in as a special adviser to get the deal done |
|

I don't think Shultz gets dealt. Streit may be the only tradeable piece on the defensive side that has any value. |

The more years we put between today and the Lindros era ...the more I think people forget how dominant he was.....3 on 3...... I go with Lindros, Leclair and Desjardin.... Although Recchi is a nice plan B.
Edit: the most dominant of all the ages.... |

Schultz could get picked up as a 6/7 guy for a competing team. I wouldn't expect anything more than a 4th in return. I'd still make that deal though. |

It's a toss up. But who knows? You could get lucky and find a gem in the later rounds. |
