I caught the tail end of the AHL all star game and in the little I saw Stolartz was really good. was solid in getting the Atlantic into the final game and played well after the other Atlantic goalie let in 3 in the final game. I'm glad he is getting the call up. nice to reward the kid. be interesting to see if he gets in - nastyflyergirl
i haven't looked at the schedule, but knowing the flyers, they probably have 19 games in then next 4 days. i think that, more than anything will determine if he gets any action...unless of course, mason gets lit the (frank) up or pulls his spleen. reality, must-see, tv. |

shows just how valuable Price is to Montreal. - nastyflyergirl
i think there's more to it than that, and condon has done well in the games i've seen. he's got solid numbers and is .500. i'm sure price would have eeked out some more wins...but enough to stop the free fall, i don't know. |

Bring up John Scott. Corner turned. - mayorofangrytown
there is actually a petition going around for that
It's like people completely forgot we are still talking about "11 points in 285 NHL games played" John Scott.

honestly I don't get how you can say that when you yourself admit you know nothing about Weal. Once again, why not go with the unknown? who knows, maybe the unknown has something to offer and is a player. the known brings nothing anyway. I personally would rather give a player a true shot than continue with a player who looks so done - nastyflyergirl
The comment of titanic and deck chairs was made for a reason. I'm fine with Weal in the lineup, I'm fine with Weal not in the lineup. I don't think the coaching staff has the same perspective of going with an unknown, than you do. He is not an unknown to them. Plenty of season left, and again, they're not in an auditioning player mode right now. |

Only one way to find out and that is to give a player(s) a chance. Sure as hell wish the Flyers gave that kid, Patrick Sharp, a chance. No, not saying Weal or anyone else is Sharp. Weal may be Potulny. but maybe he is a player. I just would like to see him play over RJ. - nastyflyergirl
I'm aware of your opinion on Weal. I'm not going to go off the deep end because Hakstol doesn't put Weal in the lineup. |

its not weal per se. its just giving a "prospect" a chance over the same old same old. that's all.

Yeah, I know. I read a column from there yesterday that was calling for it. I was wondering how that was going to help your scoring. |

You're assuming that Colin MacDonald and Weal gives them a better chance to make a push, than playing Umberger and Vandevelde. - MJL
the one thing i will never really understand, coming from an obvious educated fan as yourself, is your infatuation with umberger. all the reasons youve given, still, how can you not see he brings nothing. next to nothing. players in the AHL can give more than him. yet all things being equal you'd want him out there. colin macdonald and/or weal absolutely give any team a better shot of winning than having umberger out there. hopefully you come around soon |

I know, you've made that clear, but I don't know how many times I have to state that the Flyers are still trying to win games, and the coach is going to play who he thinks gives the team the best chance right now. Right now, the coach does not seem to think that includes Weal. I honestly don't see what the big deal is concerning Weal. It's Feb 2nd, and there is plenty of time to audition prospects if it comes to that. |

But the Titanic and dek chairs isn't accurate. That's something that is already sinking.
We are using Weal and the lineup like the crew. Maybe changing the crew avoids the iceberg. |

Most coaches seem to prefer the safer bet that they'll get net-neutral play from a guy like RJ than take the greater risk/reward gamble on a kid like Weal.
IMO, it's pretty stupid. |

I will say at least gagner usually goes out there and gets trucked or beat up usually ending in a positive. For some reason guys just want to hit him, and late |

I think from Hakstols point of view, he knows what he will get from Umberger and although he won't win the game for the Flyers, he probably wont lose it either. It is a known commodity. I think it is clear from Ghost that risks can be rewarded though |

You're incorrect that I have an infatuation with Umberger. We'll start there. Umberger does not bring nothing as a player, so that is also incorrect in my opinion.
It is your opinion that Weal, who has never been a regular player in the NHL, and MacDonald absolutely give the team a better shot. If that was that cut and dry, both would be in the lineup. For the record, I would have no problem with Weal and MacDonald in the lineup. |

What do you think... Drouin a possibility? That's been kicked around a bit. Do you have those pieces to give? If they don't make the playoffs you probably get a new management team I think.
Your team can't be that bad losing one player.
Can it? |
