Not trying to defend Umberberger, just pointing out that you're spelling his name wrong.

But getting chances is half the battle in the NHL. sure he sucks and him not scoring in 50 games is laughable...but he is getting chances over the last handful of games

- YuenglingJagr

not sure if i follow you here, ive spelled his last name right, umberger. and im arguing that he doesnt capitalize on his chances and that he shouldnt be on the ice save for an injury or two. IMO he brings nothing to this current flyers team and is only blocking players that should be given a chance to see what we have for the future, young guys like gagner (26), weal (23), etc.

Nope. I'm confident that the coach knows what he's doing.

shows just how valuable Price is to Montreal.

I think putting pucks in the opposing net is a bigger issue for them than keeping them out of their own.

The one knock against Neuvirth in his career is every time he plays great he gets hurt. This is why he's an elite #2 & not a starter. Flyers

Reminds me of the Akeson discussions from last season. Sometimes a coach just knows something about a player, and knows more than fans

Titanic's Band.....

Elite or not?

Discuss.

Let's break it down.

- Played classical music while passengers boarded life boats
- Did not lose concentration
- Went down with the ship and likely knew they were gonna die the whole time

Definitely elite.

/probably took this way too seriously

I crushed hard on Josie back in the day.

Between them and Batgirl on the original Batman TV show, really.

Don't judge me.

I can't see Yzerman trading him inside the division. I'd be very surprised.

Bergevin would have to overpay. Not sure I'd want that as a fan.

Therrien has always had them working hard since he came back to coach here. It sometimes happens in hockey, it's not because the players loathe the coach...the message just doesn't get across anymore. Maybe they are at that point.

Price is a big part of the team, certainly helps that he's great outside of his crease and almost acts as a 3rd defenseman. Can't really expect that losing last year's league MVP wouldn't have any consequences... but he doesn't score goals.

The goaltenders that have been there while he was out (Tokarski-Scrivens-Condon)....well, can't really say they have great stats, but they mostly get zero offensive support.

- stinger67

I didn't think Therrien was all that popular up there.

Yeah, you lost last years MVP but with him down has your GM really built a last place team? Or is it the coach? How stable is your team built if losing one player plummets you from 1st to worst? I wouldn't have much faith in that tandem if I was a fan of the Habs.

Just my opinion.

I don't really understand what's going on. My opinion is that the team isn't as good as what we saw at the start of the season, but they aren't as bad as what we see right now. It's probably somewhere in the middle.

Seems that every mistakes ends up with a goal against this year. There are games where they dominated the play all night and left empty handed. It's a frustrating year.

EDIT: regarding Therrien...not my favorite, but he works with what he has, and his GM didn't gave him much help in the off-season. This team has problems with the offense, it's nothing new...Only help he brought in the off-season at the forward position were a lazy russian buyout (Semin) and a coke-head (Kassian). I think this debacle falls more on his head.

Nothing worst than high hopes getting crushed.

Don't have to worry about that on this thread.
