The Flyers are a physical team. They rank 4th in the NHL in hits.
- MJL

Exactly. Keep it up.

Although if you'd tell me they have been hard to play against because of that physicality the last few years id disagree.

Was there any doubt that Jake was gonna have a hand in a goal after that call against him?
- johndewar

Didn't agree with the call, but that was a dumb move by Voracek. Play the game and get him back later. Simmonds tried to sell it to draw a penalty.

I thought Subban should have gone off for trying to extract Simmer's kidney.

But, yeah, you are right, in that Jake kinda brought it on himself, but I'm guessing his teammates viewed it like Jake taking one for Simmer.

Of course you would, because you have the idea that getting involved in scrums, taking penalties, in between whistles, and making dangerous hits is what makes a team hard to play against. You refuted your own opinion. Either the Flyers play with a physical edge or they don't. Which is it?

Maybe feeding this is that I'm reading Dennis McNally's Dead biography.

I dunno.....

- johndewar

Have not read that. I do know that Dead and Co. are releasing new tour dates this Friday (2/5). Skeptical as I was of John Mayer, he was really authentic, tasteful, and generally damn good when I saw them in Columbus in Nov.

Heard it on the radio last week, and hadn't heard in a long time. Now I can't get it out of my head, and keep listening to it over and over on youtube. Great tune. One of many by the Dead.

Had no idea about Marc D, tho. At least someone else around here knows what's up.

That's what I heard too.

I'm re-evaluating my stance on this whole "Dead and Co." thing.

I also got a job offer today that comes with a 52.7% increase in pay and is going to be exciting work, and I got out of a speeding ticket on the way home.

It has been a damn good day... I am going to go see if my wife wants to go to bed early...what the hell...I'm on a winning streak.

Be careful with that studio stuff. It can lead to listening to live stuff. Once you get hooked on that, this happens:

I am a Jerry Garcia guy. I saw the GD quite a bit between '91 - '95. Got on at the tail end there with Jerry, but I took it to heart. Saw a few Jerry Band shows too. I really don't listen to post Jerry stuff, but I'll go see Bob, Phil, Mickey, and Billy whenever they come near, in whatever incarnation. I saw the last night of the "Last shows" last year in July and I saw the Dead Co. show in Columbus. I enjoyed both immensely, but while Chicago left me happily nostalgic, the Dead Co. show left me feeling like I felt in the old days when I left a good show. Would do it again

EDIT: I'm out. Going to follow up on early to bed here... G'Night Peeps.

None at all. Cranky Jake is effective Jake.
