"Expect a huge, huge ovation and video tribute for No. 17."

Now that is just sad. Orr. Borque, Esposito, Neely....Lucic?! (frank) that.
Yes, I am trolling but that is just a joke.

The butthurt is strong with the Buffalo fans after that loss... I saw a Buffalo fan on reddit say that the penalty shot shouldn't have been allowed because Marchand had holes in his gloves, and the rulebook states that a player should be assessed a penalty if they have a hole in their glove.

Not sure what you're getting at here... this is a pretty typical process for a long-time player returning to his first game at his old teams stadium. Not to mention Lucic was part of a cup winning team, and another cup final team here in Boston. Seems like a pretty legit reason to give a guy a warm welcome if you ask me..

Lucic should still be suspended for sucker punching the linesman last week, Did the league forget that he doesn't play for Boston anymore? Just another example of the ineptness of Colin Campbell and the disiplinary team of the NHL.
I bet robin Lehner gets fined for throwing his mask after the game.

Lucic helped deliver what no Buffalo Sabre player in the entire history of their organization has ever, ever, ever delivered and that's a Stanley cup and in case you're not familiar with it, it's the giant trophy you get at the end of the playoffs when you win the final series.

You don't have to worry about any of that though.

Or a super bowl.

Or relevance.

Good game bud.

Hate to say it but I think Seids is our worst D man at this point. Trotman and Morrow both had really good games, Trotman especially is really coming into his own. I think he would benefit from an easier workload though. Claude will never do it, but I think this team would be so much better with Chiller, trotman and Morrow in the lineup

Chara Chiller
Krug Trotman
Morrow McQuaid

I find it really hard to believe Wideman is any better than Chiller at this point, other than hes comfortable in the NHL, so why not give Chiller a chance to get comfy in that role? They obviously targeted Wideman to play with Chara. Theyve acknowledged the need for a more offensively inclined D man, why are they not trying in house options?

Short of trading for a legit #2, I like that D a lot. Younger, faster, saves cap space...so it will never happen.

Wideman put up 56 points last year. Colin Miller is no where close to that production.

Not yet but hes only played 30 games in his career and has shown he has the skills. Give em 30 straight games with Chara and lets see where his game is at. It's working wonders for Trotman

It's not even so much how good I think he is as how his skill set compliments Chara. Which is very good

You had me interested so I looked it up... last year Wideman was 5th worst in the league with 92 giveaways.

This year, Chara is 5th worst in the league... last year he was 56th... talk about falling off a cliff.

P.K. Subban is the worst in both seasons... so that Stanley Cup of Chowder article was probably right... we should definitely Krecji, Subban, Koko, Connolly, and the kitchen sink for him!

But you also have to consider what you witnessed when Wideman was a Bruin.

-He was a turnover machine, and the fans hated him for it.
-He was soft and the fans hated him for it.
-He was booed by Bruins fans on many occasions which I believe had a massive negative effect on his performance.
-This current crop of Bruins is soft and gets pushed around on a nightly basis, so adding Wideman makes them softer. I predict even more leads blown.

None of this tangible. Fancy numbers and fancy stats are really cool and stuff but, they're not the whole story. We saw it live for a few seasons here. Wideman sucks. Use and twist the numbers all you want he sucks, always sucked, and always will suck.

EDIT: Also Boston and Montreal are the least likely of trade partners in any scenario. I'm pretty sure Connolly is safe as a Bruin. Good for Claude.

Haha.. I think you may have misread my post. I was pointing out stats that shows Wideman was the fifth WORST PLAYER in the league last year in the giveaway category. I wasn't trying to make Wideman look good in any way, shape, or form. I hated Wideman with the B's before, and I would hate to see him with the B's again.

Also I don't think Connolly is terrible on this team... I just think it's terrible for Claude to play him on the second line with Bergeron and Marchand. He seems like a good energy/4th line guy to me... I'd like to see him used that way.

Yeah when you took a shot a Chara and the Subban I thought you were team Wideman.

HaHa, yeah, I'm scrolling through and confused, trying to piece the deleted ones back together.

Regardless of the outcome, I always enjoy B's Vs. Sabres games, always entertaining. I think the sentiment of most Sabres fans is just that it sucked the outcome was determined by the ref......and you really can't deny that. If you're going to call a penalty shot in OT, you better be damn sure it's legit, because a goal ends it.

So, I'd assume that we don't have to worry about trading the farm for Buff and then signing him for stupid money in the offseason......thank goodness.

Buff at $7.5 is crazy. He left a year or two on the table if he became an UFA probably.

This offseason and the contracts are going to GUARANTEE another lock out. Especially with the Canadian dollar and the economic issues.

Lots of big contracts being thrown around.
