I like your thinking. Just hope all those other GM's agree with you - nanook82

I would give them a 5th rounder to take him and retain half his salary - Ihatebrianburke
Isnt that just the saddest part... We wooed him- he came over to help change things- he excelled at college etc... year 4 now and we all were hoping he would turn the corner... Poor (frank)er was introduced to fire- poor habits formed- no changes in his game- done like dinner now... Poor kid will be lucky to salvage a NHL career once he leaves edmonton... When he goes you got to wonder- now that we will replace him with clendening who was a waiver wire player... why the (frank) did it take so long?? |

I wish him nothing but success moving forward. Same with Yak, Ebs, Nuge, Pouliot, etc. It's our team structure/philosophy that needs a major adjustment.
TM must be losing sleep having to watch this team "try" to play hockey game in game out |

I honestly think eventually Hamonic will be traded to the Oilers just in the offseason |

Pouliot ain't being moved unless we're forced to add him in a deal for a stud defender
Not only does he he have the size and willingness to battle down low, but he's also extremely talented. A really good skater with hands. He doesn't bring down the halls or mcdavids at all
Got some drawbacks (abit overpaid- takes bad penalties ) but imo, he's extremely valuable to us. And from the little I've heard on the subject, it seems todd sees him as a real lynchpin for our success. And I agree |

I sorta do too
I'm sure chiarelli is pushing for a deal now, but with Nuge out and minny/isles/blues all in the thick of playoff races, getting the guys we've heard (brodin, hamonic, shatten) will be extremely difficult deals to swing
it'll just be much easier in the offseason. For everyone. And considering hamonic being a right shot, his contract, and his willingness to play in western canada- he's prob the fav to be an oiler
Personally I think chia should be all over acquiring trouba using our first, but hamonic looks like the one we'll chase
Hell- get em both

At the end of the day I see Hamonic going for either Nug or Eberle with the isles packaging a forward and high prospect for a top 4 dman somewhere else to replace Hamonic |

Franson and Carle I believe were scratches for today/night as well |

|
Wow- lots of chatter about Jultz being dealt as soon as tonight... |

You guys could have traded us Hamonic for Jultz, Purcell and Lander then flipped those three for Dion |

Franson and Carle I believe were scratches for today/night as well - saskoil21 both are an upgrade
but id rather lose jultz for nothing and be free of the dollars than take next years 3+ mil of franson
and while carle is also certainly better 2 ways than jultz (even if he has been a healthy scratch a few times)--but 2 more years at 5.5?! no thanks
just for argument sake, if either of these deals did happen, pretty strong indication we're struggling to get anyone of real value and are desperate |

Remember all the Brian Leetch comparisons? More like David Tanabe. |
