He had a good stretch early on that kept us from being completely out of it by November, but it's time to call a spade a spade; Nilsson isn't an NHL goalie. He lacks consistency and confidence. It was a fair bet to take with how he dominated the KHL and he looked good early, but dear god has that boat ever turned around.

One of Nuge or Ebs, that pick, and pretty much any prospect should at the very least be able to get a prime-aged, right shooting, top-4 D and a good to great 3C. Then they should be able to sign another Dman in the offseason.

I only say Puljujarvi because I don't see a situation where Laine doesn't go 2nd or at least 3rd. Puljujarvi's numbers show him at least being closer to par with guys like Tkachuk, Juolevi, and Chychrun so he COULD fall far enough given the right teams ahead of us.
