Someone posted a picture of Pelle's porsche all smashed up on the bed of a tow truck.

Hopefully, you flagged the post from that wienerhead..

Trash talk is fine, but to me that crosses the line. Not cool to take delight in the fact that someone died.

How much cap overages are the Flyers on the hook for?

If they want Stamkos, they can do things to move money around. JVR can be moved for an asset and Lupul can probably be dumped if they attach an asset to him.
- PhillySportsGuy

Who knows, maybe JvR and Kadri are part of the package to nab Stamkos before July 1?

Kessel and Phaneuf are both still good players though.
- PhillySportsGuy

Good, but not $7M/year signed through 2021-2022 good.

Like performance bonuses? about a million right now
- YuenglingJagr

It only really matters if you don't have the cap-space to absorb the bonuses. Used to be a problem because Pronger always took 'em past the cap ceiling every year. That all got cleared up, thank god. They're sitting pretty.

Considered replying with the video of Cherapanov dying on the bench, but thought better of it.

You're right, time to sell off the team and purposefully lose every game. In fact, just save the trouble and forfeit them all.

Yeah, but so many GMs want to win now and rarely worry about the future. Rutherford won't be in Pittsburgh when Kessel's deal turns sour.

Yes and no...it is still real and needs to be accounted for. But the Flyers have enough to not push it to next year

I am wondering if the fact that Hexy has pulled off so many good deals, may help him sell off Umberger as fools gold for some team... I can picture the sales pitch....
"Look how good Vinny is playing with the Kings after riding the bench most of 2 seasons, you will be ahead of the game for a 5th round choice even if Umberger only delivers half the scoring Vinny had bottled up......."

- Steelmanpa

Then the other GM blinks, sees the pocket watch swinging back and forth and realizes he should've never said yes when Hextall invited him over for pancakes

Smart. Don't stoop to that level. To me, someone who takes delight in posting something like that should be banned for good. Jabs back and forth happen, but there's no need of that.

Turned Phaneuf into 1.5 years of dead space, a 2nd and an ok prospect
Turned Kessel into 7 years of $1M, Kapanen and a 1st
Turned Clarkson into Horton LTIR for 6 years

Not bad

Sure, but on the other hand, don't get in the cage with them. It's kind of silly to cry about getting stung by a bee when you walked into his hive.

I just don't see the logic.

If Stolarz plays, chances are he won't win more than 50% of his games, which means they won't make the playoffs.
If Mason plays and plays well while staying healthy, we can make the playoffs.
If we play Mason and he gets hurt, we go with Stolarz until Neuvirth gets back and don't make the playoffs.

So please explain to me why we need to play Stolarz ASAP again?

I didn't say asap, but why play Mason so much when he's not healthy? That plan didn't work out too well last year. I don't see the Ducks as such a formidable foe that he couldn't play well against them. I see no reason to not give Mason a bit of rest every once in a while.

Fine, but complaining about a reaction one gets when one's sole purpose was to get a reaction is pretty franking dumb, wouldn't you agree?

Despite their record, Mason looked pretty darn good playing 4 games in less than 6 days' time. I agree that doing the same over the next week wouldn't be a great idea, but I don't see the need to rush Stolarz in. I'd maybe give him one of the back-to-back games, but I don't want to see him as anything more than a chance for Mason to get an extra day of rest.

I don't disagree, nor did I imply such.

I agree that doing the same over the next week wouldn't be a great idea,

Yay, we agree!! lol

but I don't see the need to rush Stolarz in.

Again, I never said rush him in. They called him up, presumably with the intention to play him otherwise they'd have called up JL. So I'm not opposed to seeing him get a start.

Same. Again, I never said, nor implied, otherwise.

I get what you're saying, but that happens here all the time, and I don't see us going down the route of delighting in someone's death.

I could easily see someone from here doing something very similar. In fact, in retaliation, someone mentioned-by-not-mentioning a Rangers player who died.

My point: don't be a richard if you aren't prepared for and can't handle the retaliation.

Flyers really should've traded for Phaneuf. He's everything they need. When I close my eyes it's him I see.
