DoPS is so unreliable idk what will happen, but that hit is all on Gudas imo. First of all, the hit to the head was never unavoidable. The Sabre was tangled up in a puck battle with VDV. He had no balance or expectation he would be hit in that vulnerable position. Gudas charged at him, seeing the entire time he was tangled up and vulnerable. There was no sudden movement, nothing unavoidable.

But there is no rule against hitting a player who is engaged with another player. And there is an explicit clause in the headshot rule about when a player puts himself in a position that makes head contact on a full body check unavoidable.

if myers and morin both make it, they will have some big dudes back there

Sanheim and Alt are both 6'4" I think. Provorov is unafraid to lay the boom too.

If I get into a tragic accident before I see this through, I'm going to have some strong words for the man upstairs.

Gudas charged a good distance when the Sabre was tangled up with VDV and could not protect himself adequately. It wasn't unavoidable. Gudas saw he had no leverage coming through the NZ. Yes you can hit a player engaged, but you can't do it to the head when they're vulnerable. And you could argue he was put in that position by VDV more so than he put himself in it. He was vulnerable and engaged and it was avoidable.

Sanheim isn't very physical tbh. Occasionally, but he isn't one to bowl people over.

Still only 20. He's had a very trying season. Injured and then subpar play. Has been scratched healthily a few times of late. Scored a goal last night so here's hoping it can turn his game around.

Things aren't looking as good for him as they were say last year, but he's too young and too good to give up on. People raved about his training camp too.

Number 20 Chris PronGER

Number 20 RJ UmberGER

Just started watching the game and noticed the 20 and the GER on the back of the jersey. I had a weird moment of excited...but I have never been so upset in my life when I saw the dumb face that I saw wearing the jersey.

Oh, for the love of Christ, give this guy a break.

I high fived everyone in the bar when he scored. It was like my kid scored, for chrissakes.

I think he died.

It was Pavelski's fault.

Ovi with another hatty tonight. 14th of his career.

Who's the next one to get 14 hat tricks. Stamkos? McDavid by the time I have kids? Seriously.

I don't think we quite realize how ridiculous Ovechkin is.

- Giroux_Is_God

Ovi is one of those few players you can make all the right plays against and cover with textbook defense, and he'll still pot 2. That last game against the Flyers he was facing away from the goal and had a Flyer draped all over him, and he still managed to score on a pinpoint reverse deflection.

Flyers really Forest Gumped their way through this one. What was with all the dumb penalties, one after the other?

I had a huge grin on my face. I was legit happy. You could tell how much it meant to him and his teammates.

He's a good guy, I have no doubt. Just because I'd like him scratched doesn't mean I can't feel for him as a human being. It felt like hapless Charlie Brown knocking a 50 yarder through.

Now, VDV, I feel for you as a human being.....BUT....
