Not feeling great about tonight.

ALmost feel like Stolarz should get the start(play well for back up theory) as they don't seem to play well against teams like Buffalo

Hoping for the sweep tonight! Would love to see a strong game from Bailey in his first NHL game. Grew up in Buffalo and now will get his chance in Philly which is nice. Im sure Briere and family will be there, due to them being close with Bailey. Good luck!

If Ghost gets a point tonight and continues streak he can officially be called the hottest player in the NHL right now he's so hot right now.

It's kind of the only exciting thing to watch.

I know he makes some high risk plays but he is a must watch right now. Kind of like Ryan Howard in his prime at the plate. You always think something will happen when they are playing.

It Neuvirth could start on Saturday afternoon against the Devils that would be good. Then Mason can play the Rangers on Sunday night since he has such a good record against them.

I know it's great. Every time he winds up to shoot you just think it's going in. If only his sticks would stop breaking

I have a question.

I think it's a given Eric Lindros' number will be retired one day in Philly. I believe we all debated whether or not Hextall will be years before becoming an Assistant General Manager in Philly but this is a pretty big gray area and we've seen many 27's since him. What about John LeClair and Claude Giroux? Do you think these numbers will someday be retired? Another gray area, Mark Recchi.

Thoughts.

Maybe Umberger will come in with his pants on fire and get that elusive 1st goal and 7th point of the season...

UPDATE 11:10 AM

Matt Read and Scott Laughton are healthy scratches. Jordan Weal and R.J. Umberger are back in the lineup for the Flyers. Michal Neuvirth will back up Steve Mason in goal.

REALLY!?! Maybe they are just trying to showcase Umberger.... Um... Yeah that's all I've got.
On a side note it's good to see Neuvy feeling better... But always scary with so little practice time.

I'm a little surprised Read's name comes up in the trade-deadline conversation. At a certain point, we're gutting what little team depth there is. I'm not specifically referring to either of the posters I'm quoting above, but just in general people complain about the bottom six on this team. Trading Matt Read for a third rounder that may never see the NHL isn't a worthwhile sacrifice, IMO. It doesn't do much to help the team now or in the future.

Gagner, Medvedev, and Shultz are the guys I'd try to move for mid-round picks. Streit, possibly, but again, how much do we want to gut the team? He may get a second rounder this year or a third next year, and next year he would be easier to move for contract reasons.

I wouldn't mind seeing LeClair get his retired. Giroux still has a long way to go, IMHO, to get his number retired. Recchi I could see go either way and neither route would disappoint me.

I read a bleacher report article that quoted Hextall as saying he has some things going that he could do. Obviously most GMs probably do. If they hadn't been on a 3 game losing skid I'd think more of it, but I think this is just a way to shake things up given the last three games.
