Wouldn't be surprised if Coop opts for 11/7 lineup.
All of the Stamkos stuff, while not unexpected, is bordering on ridiculous IMO. I agree he won't be dealt, and even if we were to find a trade there's no guarantee he would agree to waive. Either way I don't see a team ponying up what it would take for Yzerman to move him without a guarantee he resigns there and to me if he were to leave Tampa before FA it would almost guarantee he's gonna hit the open market come July. |

Maybe deal stamkos to the ducks ? They can rent him and have prospects to spare! Does stamkos get the ducks past la and the Hawks ? |

Would we deal Stamkos (and hurt our chances this season) for prospects and/or futures?
Would Stamkos waive to go to Anaheim?
Would Anaheim deal what it would take for Yzerman to deal Stamkos knowing the chances they resign him are closer to none than slim?
Alot more questions than just a simple "Anaheim has prospects to spare for a rental". I'm of the belief he doesn't get traded but if he were to get dealt it basically guarantees he's hitting open market in July b/c outside of a trade/sign with Toronto or resigning in Tampa I doubt he signs anywhere before examining options in July. I've been wrong before (alot) but I just don't see a way he is dealt at deadline

IMO if and when the nail in the extend with the bolts is finalized, stamkos would waive to go to any team with an actual playoff spot solidified. I mean he knows he would only be there until summer and then he can sign anywhere he wants |

What's Drouin doing with all his free time? When I google his name all I get is bad trade proposals. I wanna know what he thinks is a better way to spend his time if not reporting to the Crunch... |

The Bolts should not get a monstrous package, they should have signed him before this season and since they didn't now they need to pay the consequences. |

I'm pretty sure he has no intention of ever reporting to the Crunch and is willing to stay indefinitely suspended until he is traded.
If I'm Yzerman I'm not letting one kid on an ELC undermine my development/asset-management philosophy and strong-arm me into making a decision. Unless of course somebody offers something you can't refuse. |

“I think the answer is we’ll cross that bridge at the time,” Stamkos said. “I don’t think it’s that time right [now]. So, I continue to come to the rink every day as the leader that I am and the teammate that everyone in this room knows that I am, and give my best effort. I’ve said that since Day 1 of training camp and that hasn’t changed.”
Perhaps I'm missing something here, but how is that in any way controversial?
To me, that just says that if he's asked to waive his NTC, he'll consider it, but nobody has asked him. |

"The trade deadline is coming up in a couple weeks, I'm sure everyone will have some answers in a couple weeks when that comes," Stamkos said Thursday. "We've kept everything to ourselves, and I know it (stinks) for you guys (media). But I think you can appreciate the way we've conducted doing business and whatever happens in the next couple weeks, there's obviously going to be some answers."

I don't see why they don't just sign him for fair market value (maybe a slight hometown discount) with a limited NTC and then keep him until they reach a point where they need the cap space and can make the decision. At that point (in a few years) I'm fairly sure the teams that would have signed Stamkos this summer will still be interested in trading for him (assuming he doesn't regress too bad) with his slight hometown discount contract. The Bolts can trade him later for a bigger package (if they choose to) because he won't just be a rental. |

Yeah I know that much. But is he back home with his family? Is he sitting on the couch? Is he training with some other random teams? Like wtf is he doing with all this time. Hopefully regretting some of his choices and getting a new outlook on life. |

Only thing I have seen is "he is skating in Montreal" for his current activities, obviously under the guise of staying in shape for if/when a deal goes down

First off this is under the assumption the Bolts aren't in the playoffs.
Secondly assuming the Bolts do make the playoffs this is basically the same team that went to the SCF last year, so any deal Yzerman would make for Stamkos would happen with the expectation that the return wouldn't "hurt" a team that has legitimate cup chances. So again I ask why would a team give up what it would take to get Stamkos knowing he will be testing the market after this run? It's one thing for a crap team to be a seller trading away rentals, it's a far different scenario for legitimate contender to be selling pieces at the deadline hurting that contender status.

Stamkos said something other than "no comment" therefor we the media shall try and create the scenario that Stamkos "meant" with his statement |
