I'm just happy to finally have a GM with the balls to pull the trigger. Darcy did manage to make a few steals but they were to infrequent.

I still insist that that Foligno finding his game is an important happening this season. I didn't like the direction that situation was headed for awhile. It appears he's an example of a guy who was held back by the tank and is finding a groove now that we have a real team.

Need to see more consistency from him,
But he has looked really good lately

Consistency has always been his issue, I still feel that they will trade him by the deadline.

I hope it's in a package for a prospect or player and not a pick. He's a good bottom 6 player.

There's no doubt McDavid is the better player over Eichel, but he also is playing with the far more talented offense. And, McDavid is almost playing like the coach is telling him to just go out there and do what you do. Eichel has simmered down and seems to be buying into a system Bylsma is trying to create. His goal against the Avs just proves he can turn it on whenever he wants, and at the start of the season he was going end to end a lot more and tow-dragging the puck through his legs. The McDavid level of talent is there, Eichel just needs to be turned loose if he's going to compete with McDavid on the highlight reel.

Hopefully its a buy and sell at the same time.

Foligno and McGinn packaged together?

It might land you a decent return. Hopefully a LH D-man

B.S. - Bylsma had Crosby who consistently put up 80+ points. Is Bylsma "Just like" Ruff and holds back offensive talent?

Eichel has struggled at times this year, and that is ok.

He is not as good as McDavid, and that is ok too.

I agree, that's why I stated McDavid is better. And, maybe you're right, maybe it is Bylsma who is holding Jack back. My only point is that Eichel has talent not terribly far behind McDavid and from time to time we get to see that. If we just let the kid do what he can do, the gap between him in McDavid would shrink considerably.

So I think we are talking about two different talent attributes. I think McDavid has better dekes and ability to make moves at high speeds (but it is close on the latter one), but Eichel has a better shot, stronger on the puck and is a little faster.

So I am not sure where that leaves us, cause it truly is impossible to compare two players, besides stats, which dont tell the whole story (opponents, teammates/linemates, situations like powerplays)

As far as the Calder trophy, it is not awarded to the "better" player, but the player who had the better season. So just because one guy wins it, does not mean he will have a better career / is the better player (that specific year they were though).

McDavid might be only behind someone like MacKinnon when it comes to top end speed.

The two things Eichel has on McDavid is his shot, and strength.

Well, ok. Either way, I think they are close. I think they both have a speed that can destroy D men, so very rarely will they be chasing each other down, so it does not matter much (the difference in speed).

So Kane overslept and will miss Ottawa game tomorrow. Nice. Hope it does not become a pattern.

I was going to say that too, but people make mistakes (sleeping in, not the trade, haha), can't take it too seriously. Dude has been on point lately, hope this does not hurt that.

Maybe...
But most young players take a while to develop consistency
Murray has praised him in the past
So I guess we'll see
