Its nice to see eichel and reinhart progress, but what mcdavid is doing in todays goal starved nhl is so impressive its basically just him and then the field. For perspective, gretzky won five cups in 20 years. Crosby has one in 10. It will take several good/great players to get us where we want to go- and seeing several young players like eichel, reinhart, and ristolainen playing well makes it feel like we are heading in the right direction. Mcdavid can have his calder, just as long as it means we get a parade down delaware at some point too.
Man, I like Simmonds more and more every season. McIlrath and Glass were talking poop before the game, they hopped over the boards, went at it, Simmonds got the first good shot in right on the jaw and they stood toe to toe and slugged it out even after McIlrath tried to gouge Simmonds eye out and scratched him next to the eye, what a Richard. You could tell Simmonds was pissed about that because he threw the biggest punch I've seen in quite some time. He starts it below his waist and fires straight through McIlrath's head, but he ducked just in time to deflect it(1:21 of the video). I give the edge to Simmonds, not a huge win, but a definite decision.
Edit: Simmonds: On his fight with McIlrath…"He (McIlrath) wanted to fight. I told him to do it on my terms. (He) said he was going to run around and hit my guys. He hit Jakie (Voracek) so I stepped in. Stopped it early."
What a punk McIlrath is. His captain has a glass jaw, more than got what was coming to him after that cross check to Simmonds' head, so a scrub comes in and pulls that poop. McIlrath also has Simmonds by 2" and 50 lbs. What a tough guy...

Sorry but Simmonds is just as big of a punk. He's a good player but he's dirty and has taken plenty of cheap shots and he mouths off as much as the worst of them.

Hello sir!
I feel like I haven't seen u around in a bit...
Hope things are well
And I agree about the Sabres
We are headed in the right direction for sure.
And besides the guys you mentioned...
Kane is finally starting to find his groove here
He now has more goals per game than any other Sabre
We still have some work to do...
But we aren't all that far away
Big strides are coming soon

I've wanted us to trade for him since he was on LA though
I like him as a player quite a bit
Lenny Kravitz is huge in Germany, well he was 12 years ago... lol But seriously, every bar/club I went to there at least 2 of his songs came on. They really like their metal too. Really heavy stuff, not like pop Metallica, even in regular bars, which was fine with me, but still struck me as odd. Some clubs' downstairs was the "metal room". The other funny thing is Budweiser was like 14 euro a bottle. I really don't remember any techno/house/dance music. Maybe they just don't listen to that stuff in Frankfurt, Nuremberg or Munich. Also, they went absolutely bonkers for this stuff. Even in the non-tourist areas/tiny villages where my family lives, so it's not just a joke they play on foreigners.
It's not as bad as it sounds. That guy also makes it backwards to everywhere else I had it. They pour the beer first then add the coke, because the coke fizzes so much more than the beer, adding the beer after makes the coke go flat. - Wetbandit1
Adding "mixers" to beer really isn't all that new
(Beer with OJ, for example, has been around since well before my time)
And beer cocktails are starting to regain popularity here in the U.S., especially with Craft beers & unique ingredients... Herbs, egg whites, sauces & syrups, etc
(I'm a bartender)
Btw, that does taste pretty good, but I've always done a ratio that was closer to 80% beer (or more). Anything more & I think u lose too much of the "beer" quality of the drink
Try a Bloody Mary with beer!
* not all styles will work though, and you'll have to play around a little with the amount of each Bloody ingredient u use.
Best to do it with a pitcher, easier to add more beer, hot sauce, etc to get it to your liking

I'm sorry, it's just not there. I typed Wayne Simmonds dirty and Wayne Simmonds dirty player and Wayne Simmonds cheap shot into google and went through 45 pages of links and found a whopping 2 boarding calls. One against Zidlicky in the playoffs and one against Ennis. Something about a butt-end with no video and when there was a video the guy who wrote the article said it was inconclusive. Also something about a slash on McDonagh from a few years ago, but that was from a Rangers blog, with no actual evidence, so yeah...
Does he talk? Absolutely, but that doesn't make a dirty player. And I've seen no evidence of "cheap shots" any more than say, Gorges. A physical player is going to take some boarding penalties.

I think this is pretty much on point. If there is enough runway left on the season McDavid will overtake all other rookie point totals. If he does, he will be the unanimous rookie selection.
You have to wonder how the Calder will be decided. Typically you would go by points but when you got Ghost in the picture, you cant hold the different positions as equal. Ghost is at 31 points right now and Panera Bread is at 52. You have to wonder how a projected 40-50 point rookie Dman who is playing top 4 minutes would be graded towards forwards who are more inclined to score more points.

I don't think he wins it, mainly because outside of a few markets, and the people who don't follow all that closely, he is not a known name.
Now that shouldn't play a role in deciding, but I think it does.

As long as he doesn't get hurt again McDavid will still run away with it. I hate to say it but he looks miles ahead of Eich. McDavid is faster, is much more involved in the play and flat out creates. Jack is really talented and will only get better but McDavid is on another level.
That said, McDavid is also playing with much more skilled/hands players than Jack has in Buffalo. Buffalo still has no 'finishers' besides maybe O'Reilly, maybe Sam.
