I never really got the impression that he was worried about what the media thought of him or how they portrayed him personally. Just that he was arrogant and above the media who he thought of as the soul-sucking parasites they are. More of a concern for how their nonsense would impact ticket sales and the team in general. Got sort of the same vibe from Burke before he left too, although he was more keenly aware of the marketing need for the media so perhaps seemed just a little more tolerant. - YeOldTimer
Burke was and is one of the most media intolerant people there is in the industry. He was at war with most of our media.

That lineup would be so soft and fun to play against they'd have to charge other teams an entertainment tax. - YeOldTimer

I think both Gillis and Luongo lied about his waiving or not waiving. However I don't think there was any legitimate trade option for him to actually waive for. Do you remember the trade-deadline day with Nonis disingenuously stringing Gillis along until the final few minutes? Luongo was fully expecting to get moved that day and was so disappointed that he issued the "My contract sucks" quote. - YeOldTimer
That makes little sense. Luongo wouldnt waive but was upset Gillis couldnt come up with a trade in the end?
I don't think you are remembering MG's soap operas too accurately. |

27 lb Steelhead caught Sunday in Forks WA.
- A_SteamingLombardi
Oh my god why would that (frank)head kill that wild Steelhead? (adipose fin not cut)... any respectable Steelhead fishermen lets wild Steelies go... most systems have a catch and release only on wild Steelhead... I wonder if he legally killed it even?

They may have different fishing laws in Washington State, I think that's where Steaming said it was from....regardless though I agree with catch and release wild Steelhead |

Pedan forsure should be on the nucks next year, or even after TDL, I think tryamkin will need some time in the A when he comes over though |

An interesting poll question on Twitter . Who would you want as a President of Canucks , Linden or Messier. It was a 50/50 split.
I took Messier. I don't like the Pres having close ties and a history with players. |

yes that may very well be the case.
Likely JB to get him here will promise a spot next season and AHL the rest of this season, so he makes the $. If that's what it takes to get him here then do it.
But remember he has 2 years of seasoning in KHL. Not quite the NHL but still playing with some NHL level players and experience at that level. I think he'll be fine. His size, strength and reach adds a dimension that gives him major advantage over other Dmen. |

I do think his size/skating are pretty ideal. Don't they play on international ice size in the KHL though? |

I believe that all wild steelhead in Washington must be let go. They may mark the hatchery fish differntly there...
None the less,,, thats a Spawning Steelhead which wont be very good tablefare from a state with dwindling to endangered runs... and possibly illegal....

It's going to get awkward when they bring in Keenan as Linden's boss. |
