Nichushkin and Benn for Hamhuis And McCann
- VANTEL

I like it.

Although i think both Hammer and McCann are better than Benn and Nich, given positional needs, age and potential ceilings...i like it.

Great guy for playoffs and a pylon
You may be right about changing McCann to the wing.

- neem55

Great guy for a playoff team, rather :p He's a good #3 but too many minutes and the mistakes are just comical.

Not until the Sedin era is over, only then can Vancouver "truly rebuild."

I agree he's a number 3 ideally, pylon is pretty far fetched.

Pretty unqualified claim, why don't you elaborate.
See my logic is, we had 3 bottom six centers in Vey/Crack/McCann. Addition of Granlund, we have 4 (still with me?). so that means we have too many bottom six centers, the bottom six center with the most return value is, wait for it... McCann. It's an inference based on math, which as it turns out is fairly sane.

- neem55

You're right having to many centres means the one with the most potential will be traded

weber from buffalo to the caps for a 3rd...
- mauryballstein

That's a 2017 3rd. Not this year's draft. Same with Toronto's San Jose deal. 2017 and 2018 picks. Those are really no more than hypothetical assets and won't have any impact on the Leafs for at least 4-5 years.

I prefer Benning's strategy of picking up RFA prospects that are better known quantities. Easier to more accurately project what their ceiling might be at the NHL level than any pick and won't take as long for them to help the veterans in your current lineup.

How about a 3 month ban, will that work for what's next?

They both can go down once their jr team is finished. I don't think JV will be sent down.
- VANTEL

If it looks like the Comets can go on a long playoff run, is going down and taking part in that better for his development than playing 10 minutes a night on a sinking ship?

don't think he was every on the list. Washington never had the cap space to acquire someone like hamhuis.
- Mungo

If the return was good Canucks could have kept back 99% . It is an expiring contract

You lost what little respect you had when you believed that the Leafs were my second favourite team.
- Scooby_Doo

Sorry, my bad, some times I tend to read things and then rashly jump to the incorrect conclusion.
Like earlier today when I read this....

The Leafs are my second favourite team.
- Scooby_Doo

Anyways I'll try harder to interpret things otherwise next time.......

PS. I know that you don't mean it.......... not quite that masochistic enough..

We don't necessarily have too many centers....

Sedin - 1 C
Horvat - 2 C
Granlund - 3C
Gaunce - 4C

Sutter, Mcann, Vey - moved to the wing. Cracknell won't be on the team next year. Gaunce can be swapped with Vey if they prefer him on the wing. I don't believe they want Mccan playing 4C

General Fanager has us with only 4 centres, 3 LW and 7 RW, so maybe we're trading Vitanen, see how (frank)ing crazy this way of thinking is.

are you ready with the matches, wood and gasoline?

Clearly we should trade 2 right wings (or waive) and 2 centers just to be safe

It's either Rodin or Vey. We won't have both next year, team is too small as it is

I guess it was Batman or the Dark Knight, might have come to mind because my son is a fan of Dark Knight Rises with that little finger/fbi guy at the start. all those movies blur together for me.

We're still short a LW, I guess we could put Burrows back there but I was hoping he would get traded this week, leaving us short a LW. (frank)en Benning
