Anyone who actually resents Hammer if he decides NOT to waive his NTC can (frank) off. |

In this case, Benning is certainly out to fill a need, and I'm pleased to see the team moving on from Weber. A fifth-round pick is a low price to pay, but I'll be surprised if Larsen turns out to be anything more than a marginal upgrade
sorry Carol, you are WRONG!!!!! ... according to the ASSet management experts around here .... - the end
Just wait 'til next year after he scores 15 goals and 40 pts. There'll be another riot when that 5th gets upgraded to a 4th. |

It is tough letting the guy go. Quality player and team mate.
But.... if he was to return, we would likely have to move a lhd... Edler?
I don't want Hutton to go anywhere and I want Pedan in the lineup...
difficult decisions. - hillbillydeluxe
How is that difficult?
Trade Edler in the offseason (likely to get a decent return) |

I am just saying. IF he decides not to, he doesn't deserve backlash. |

I wouldn't necessarily be against this... wondering if Anaheim would trade for him and we get one of their prospects.. Might give them some cost certainty and Edler might waive to play with some friendly faces on the Ducks...
Edler is so coddled here, I don't think he is any rush to leave the protective sphere of the Sedins... |

Before Fanoof, i thought he'd be a good fit on Ottawa.
Maybe offload him to Florida, Dallas or NJ ?
Wherever. |

I was wondering if that could be the treatment for Vrbata if he is uncooperative with his list of teams?
I wouldn't waive Hamhuis though, he negotiated the NTC, and, I am guessing, a better team guy than Vrbata. Wouldn't do much to attract future quality ufa's in both cases. |

It could be all bs, but there was talk among the media, I think it was Kuzma, that said Edler is so shy. Avoids the media, just hates any attention, and the Sedins and other team mates run interference and cover for him. He has his NTC, I don't think he wants to go anywhere and would require lots of convincing to waive the NTC.
But maybe one of the teams that has no fans or media attention would be a good fit... |

I don't care what they do to Vrbata but Hamhuis is all class and should be treated with respect whatever he decides. If he waives, wins a Stanley cup and returns next season he should get a standing O for helping the team rebuild |

You've implied it in the past that if a player with a NTC doesn't waive it that you just send them to the minors until they accept a trade. Or something like that. I think you've changed since then. |

Don't let facts get in the way of a derogatory post......
You did however say that you'd waive any layer that refuses to waive their ntc..... so |

Wasn't me a month ago I said Hamhuis has every right to refuse to waive and I understood if he did decline because he is a family man. Then I added Canucks have the right not to extend him in the summer.
Both parties have the right |

No doubt.
Even if he leaves, wins a cup, and signs on with another team, I think he will get one of the best receptions, that we have see for former Canucks, upon his return to our arena... |

I did say that about Edler and Higgins last season. I did say it about Higgins this year too. |
