More importantly, what are we giving up to get him?
- golfingsince

I doubt the Prucell move has anything to do with us, merely posting it cause he kindof represents that lower tier top 9 guy like Vrb, could potentially set the market?

He still looked like the slow guy on that line though. Holy was I impressed with Etem and Granlund last night. Both looked unreal.

Belcher said to me last week Your Boy Vey looks pretty good tonight. Three games before that he was the first star.

He is a third liner. I am not sure what everyone is expecting from him.

Before Granlund for the last month and a half we had a third line finally generating scoring and chances. It has been years since we were able to say that.

I honestly have trouble sometimes understanding the mindset here. I see a comment here last night about keep 4.5 mil dollars Burrows to mentor, who has about 2 points in his last 15 games. We want to hurry out the door a young kid still learning the game at 1 mil who has beaten Burrows for the job on the third line.

Sadly the top 5 teams from the draft last year. Edmonton worst in the league, buffalo 3rd worst, Arizona 7th worst, Toronto 2nd worst. All drafted a forward. Carolina picks at 5 takes a defensemen and they are 13th worst and not far out of a playoff spot in the East. If Van doesn't get Jacob Chychrun, Olli Juelovi, Mikhail Sergaychov it will be many more seasons of picking bottom of the league. More then enough forwards prospects on the team now. If they can get Charlie McAvoy or Jake Bean later on in the first round.

You are kind of going away from the point here in the last paragraph. I never said he played terrible last night? I just thought Etem and Granlund looked awesome. Vey just looked average on that line where as his line mates looked hungry. If Vey continues to play like he is, at a cap hit of 1M, I don't think ANYONE should be complaining. Burrows at 4.5 mill for the way he is playing is a JOKE.

It was a comment directed not at you . I just hitched a ride to your post to stand on my soapbox.

The point is the third and second lines are coming along nicely IMO.

they looked fantastic last night. I really do wish I could power my way to the net in my beer league hockey games the same way Horvat does. That guy is so god damn strong with the puck.

Our second and third line cost less than 6 million dollars combined.

The D is such a question mark, especially if we get a decent one back for Hamhuis.

For fun let say (positions/sides not in equation)

Edler-Tanev
Pokka*-Hutton
Pedan-Sbisa

then we have,

Hamhuis* (?)
Tyramkin(?)
Biega

If that's the case, do we resign Hamhuis?
I would. Wouldn't be the worst top 4.

At this rate i'm torn into thinking that i hope we lose the lottery so Benning is forced to take the best D available. (not including the possibility to trade/down)

I would re-sign Hamhuis and trade Sbisa if possible.
