Problem is,

Pedan
Biega
Larson
and probably Tryamkin would all be on one way deals.
A couple injuries and we are screwed Corrado style.

- Whiskey-Tango

Tyk would be on entry level contact this waiver exempt
Biega, Peden have to be here or waived due to games played. I'm unsure if Larson has played enough to trigger waivers or not.

"VAN deal will be Hamhuis and Baertschi for Bickell and Svedberg. Sekac waived and claimed covers Baertschi's salary".

If Benning pulls the trigger on that....god help us.

I'm guessing Larsen is exempt but idk
Its why I said Pedal is on the roster but Biega could be at risk too early to say though

ha ha ha. that would be a brutal deal. Not a chance JB does that. He loves Baertschi!

I have heard Biega will be on the Comets next year or picked up off waivers. The person who said this has the same clout as Scoobys hair stylist who has a voice for print.

JJ at it again.

UPDATE:

Ball is in Hamhuis' court, undecided as to whether he wants to be a Chicago rental piece. Young family, Vancouver is essentially home for him.

Hawks and Canucks still working on parameters. Svedberg mentioned again. "Bad contracts" included a real possibility (Bickell, Higgins).

LA and Pittsburgh now hot after Boedker.

"Lots going on."

This scares me because I don't think it's out of the realm of possibility for Benning. Take the Kesler talks for instance... I remember people on here talking for days about how Benning would have to be targeting Vatanen or Theodore as one of the main pieces coming back. Enter Luca Sbisa.

This scenario is just too eerily similar in that many of us want Pokka coming back, and we may just end up getting Svedberg.

Poor comparison when JB's hands were tied up.
The final deal was ok

A giant with incredible reach. Svedberg is among the very largest players in Swedish hockey today. A two-way defenseman in the Swedish junior league, but likely to develop into a more defensive minded type of player in the future. Skating and mobility is not impressive, but not as bad as someone would expect for a player of his large stature. He has average hockey sense, but decent enough positioning. Plays the body to some extent, but gets penalized a bit too much. A project that could turn out well if he continues to work on his mobility. Pretty active stick.

JJ did have a pretty good read on the Kesler to Chicago talk. If Hamhuis to Chi happens JJ will be close in his prediction.

It'll likely be moot because I don't think Hamhuis will waive.

I wasn't saying the final deal was bad, or comparing values. Simply saying that Benning tends to value a certain type of defenceman more than some people do, and Svedberg might fit that model.

Ya, he surprisingly seems to be pretty consistent with his calls, which in this case is very frightening.
