Still trade him. Hamhuis will waive, doesn't really matter where, he will be back next season. He'd be crazy not to waive to go play in another city for 3 months and have a chance to win a Cup. It ain't happening here during the rest of his career.

I think JB will have a couple of competing offers, which will get the price to a decent prospect and a first or second round pick. If the Canucks are prepared to retain salary, the return goes up.

lol you might wanna wrap your head around the fact that if Hammer goes alone it may be for a 2nd only and MAYBE a b grade prospect. Hawks are a cap team. They want Bickell out and may sweeten the pot if someone takes that contract. Any one of TT...Van Riemsdyk or Pokka packed up with Bickell for Vrbata and Hammer would be fine. If we are able to dump 9.5 mil we may need to take some back to get the A+ grade prospect we want. But expecting a 1st and and A grade prospect for Hammer isn't realistic.
