So if it's drouin and carle no salary retained what should the flyers offer in return. Just throwing crap out there lol - jmdodgeser4
Nothing -- cannot ruin the wizardry of escaping Pronger and Wheels by eating a contract that you know is bad
At some point, yes, they need to spend that money to improve the team. But not by taking a contract that you know is going to screw you over

Wow , really ? I'd entertain it if it lowers what I'd have to give up for them. Haag and two low picks or some crap like that |

Carle and AMac together. Just think about that.
And I don't think Yzerman is going to diminish Drouin's value over Carle. |

Send Carle down to the AHL or keep him as a 7. Buy him out after next year for a small cost at ~1.8 a year for two years. It's not likely or even ideal, but if it means giving up a bit less for Drouin, it is not unreasonable. Flyers can afford it. |

I'd love to get Drouin but I don't like this at all. Not unless they have a taker for Streit and a plan in place to somehow move AMac in the offseason. |

I don't even know if they can move Streit without eating some salary, tbh
And I guess they can't do that right now? |

Stamkos walking is going to be a huge blow to that team. I'm almost kind of amazed Yzerman isn't shopping him. Imagine if G walked for nothing.... |

That's why I was shocked the comment came out he wasn't going to be dealt at the TDL. Taking a massive risk this summer. Part of me wants to see him bolt (pun intended , just so it teaches Yzerman a lesson for that low ball offer he pitched Stamkos. |

Same. At a certain point you have to tell yourself "we made our best offer and it wasn't enough." At that point I think you have to field offers. |

Or bite the bullet and pay the man what he's worth. I can't imagine TampaBay getting fair value for him. I can't think of a guy in the league just shy of Ovechkin who can net you goals at a successful clip. |

Yeah, exactly. And then then to let the Drouin situation get to where it got. I'm not a Yzerman fan and I think this could get really rough for him moving forward. |

Do you think the Stamkos situation could effect what they do with Drouin? Or vise versa? Maybe they want to maximize a return for Drouin incase Stamkos skips town? |

Per GM Ron Hextall, the #Flyers have signed RW Colin McDonald to a multi-year contract extension → http://bit.ly/1QOYspQ |

I think they want to get as much for Drouin as possible regardless of whatever happens with Stamkos.
But to me they'd have a lot more leverage in deals moving Stamkos than they do with Drouin. If it were me I'd shop Stamkos and either retain Drouin or trade him if the right move was there. As it is Yzerman let it get to a point where he has to trade Drouin regardless of return and Stamkos might very well walk for nothing. |
