On second thought, maybe we should just sign him to an AHL deal, don't need that POS cheap shotting our prospects.

I think the Rangers did well.
I'd love to be in a place where our GM is going all in for this year, it's exciting.

I agree he should definitely help them and Rangers didn't give up much really. |

I'd like to see us do something here. No use holding onto Ganger if nothing else. |

What I want to see is us get a more skilled offensive center man and roll 3 lines that can score with Couts anchoring the 3rd, ideally being more of the two way line that also takes on more d responsibilities. Kind of how we rolled 3 lines circa 2008-2009.
Nothing wrong with Couts being 3C in that case. He'll still get plenty of ice time. - orangekrush2010
I've said it before on here...I'm not going to waste time talking about 2C and 3C. Right at this moment, cousins is doing okay. They had absolutely nothing that looked like a 3rd line for the majority of this season.
Coots gets tons of ice time and will continue to do so. If there is another player that comes in and helps take some of his defensive responsibility it can help coots put up better numbers but I don't buy the fact that they need to "replace" him at all.
Plus at this point we are going to have to start looking for a giroux replacement anyway. Not sure if we can count on him to lead the team in points as a 30 year old |

exactly!
no chance at mathews now no chance at the playoffs not trading players and resigning the same ones that's the definition of mediocrity |

This comment is ridiculous. So the flyers should trade for underperforming, overpaid big names to make people like you happy? |

It's not a bad deal, but they didn;t shore up the defense which is a weak spot.
Saardella is little, but he can fly. He could be a guy they really regret dealing away.
But let's face it, they have a fairly short window with a 33 year old Lundqvist. Makes sense to go hard after it now. |

One could argue (without much difficulty) Couturier, at even strength, has been their 1C....*ducks and covers* |

Yeah. They didn't give up a ton but staal has been average this year. In the last few years the rags have given up a first for Nash first for St. Louis and 1st and duclair for yandle. Now 2 seconds for a rental. That's starting to add up IMO and they're going to pay the piper soon. |

So what is your point? Besides female doging just to female dog, what is it that you want the Flyers to have done, here?
Staal hasn't sniffed the playoffs since 2009 -- where was he leading Carolina? To the finest golf courses open in May?
At some point, it's not always the Flyers' fault. I know you aren't gonna believe that, but FFS, they can't acquire everyone, can't keep everyone, not every trade is gonna work! They have gone hard for 40 years. What is it that you want them to do that they haven't done? |
