staal - team leader, cup champion, very limited support
Raffl - well um he played for the flyers - 2Real
Pfffffffffffft. You'd be up in arms if the Flyers paid $9 million for leadership |

The guy doesn't know what he wants. Just likes to complain and clutter up the board with uninformed, unintelligent nothingness. |

So what is your point? Besides female doging just to female dog, what is it that you want the Flyers to have done, here?
Staal hasn't sniffed the playoffs since 2009 -- where was he leading Carolina? To the finest golf courses open in May?
At some point, it's not always the Flyers' fault. I know you aren't gonna believe that, but FFS, they can't acquire everyone, can't keep everyone, not every trade is gonna work! They have gone hard for 40 years. What is it that you want them to do that they haven't done? - AllInForFlyers
no but they can make moves that clearly are better for the organization you can't tell me trading streit, raffl, reid, and schutlz and putting the team in a great position to get mathews wouldn't be good for the franchise |

Flyers are not one guy away....Raffls deal is a good signing....solid 3rd line guy....Staal has had a great career but his best days are in the past.... |

That was a joke. No way did the Rags get him for two 2nds and a prospect though - hereticpride
You sure do have an uncanny knack for being completely out to lunch on the trade value of players. |

I don't know for sure, but I won't be surprised if Schultz goes. It's harder to tell with Streit, because his contract is not cheap and they can't retain salary -- that one could be a heavy lift, in-season
I'd move Read, some wouldn't. But Raffl isn't overpaid for what he is. Could he have been traded? Sure. But it's not like he's the problem |

I'll dislike anything that involves giving up a second rounder to take a contract off our hands that isn't even handcuffing us anymore |

never said staal was the answer but sitting around and doing nothing while other teams make deals to improve their standing doesn't help |

It's not a bad deal, but they didn;t shore up the defense which is a weak spot.
Saardella is little, but he can fly. He could be a guy they really regret dealing away.
But let's face it, they have a fairly short window with a 33 year old Lundqvist. Makes sense to go hard after it now. - Jsaquella
they've been all in for a while, it makes sense to continue
those two seconds are not a huge amount for a guy like Staal, even if he is in decline |

You just said you want the Flyers to sell for Matthews...which short of selling Ghost, G, and Jake isn't happening. Now you say you want them to buy a UFA rental so they can compete for a Cup...they can pick up all the Staals, still aren't winning a Cup. So which polar opposite unrealistic scenario do you want? You're talking out both sides of your mouth.
Face it: Flyers, even if they sell some of their UFAs, are still a playoff bubble team that can't win the Cup even if they make it. And they will still probably come up short of the playoffs, picking 10-15. Deal. |

They really have no choice. I think the Rags's window is only slightly open at this point, but there ain't no turning back after all the win-now! deals they've made in recent years. They are probably no better than the 5th team in the East, their future is bleak as anything, but if you're (frank)ed, being a bit more (frank)ed doesn't make much of a difference. They're basically the Hawks with no real chance of winning. |

Pretty sure you implied Flyers should add pieces to keep up with the arms race going on. |
