not sure I understand about the hawks comparison
with guys like panarin and teravainen they will be good for a while - Marc D
The Hawks are also all in. They have dealt a ton of their picks, and in several years will probably be paying the price. But they are legit contenders and have been and probably will be for a few more years. The Rags have little chance of winning, but they too have sold the farm and have no picks. They are the Hawks except it will all have been done in vain.
Who knows if they can afford Panarin long term either. And Teuvo looks to be good not great (still young). I mean we have G and Jake and we finished as the 7th worst team last year. As soon as their real core ages, things won't be pretty. But they have the Cups to show for it so who cares? Rags will have squat. |

Rangers have a chance, not as good as Caps or Chicago but they're in the mix, I think
as good as CHI and WA are, they are not perfect.

I saw interviews with Magic and Jordan this week, they both conceded that Steph and the Warriors would have swept their best teams. - PLindbergh31

opinions seem split in the rags thread
some think its a bad trade, others are fine with it - Crimsoninja
It's probably fair value and he definitely helps their team, but it has to be concerning to have the worst farm system in hockey and realize your team has 1 pick in the top 75 of the next two drafts.
They need to clear some room, so I imagine someone like Kreider gets moved for picks/prospects during the offseason. |

I still can't see the Rangers beating Washington or Tampa in a 7 game series. They're probably the 3rd or 4th best team in the East, but they've got holes. |

Pelicans is a terrible name, but at least there is some relevance. The Utah Jazz always gets me. They moved the team from New Orleans but kept the Jazz name because, ya know, we all think of Jazz when we think about Salt Lake City. |
