He has been playing fine for me too. But I am of the belief that Ghost is lifting him up with his own stellar 2 way play right now...and all his flaws I've seen in the past are still there. He's the same player, playing with a touch more confidence and a very good partner. In a vacuum, if he's a 5/6 guy, it isn't world ending. He's better than Schultz and Manning imo.

Hey, I don't despise the guy. I always felt he was a third-pairing player and doesn't make or break them if you play him like that -- and you should try really, really hard to play him like that

MacDonald has lead the Flyers in ice time since he came back. I've never liked him being used on a shutdown pairing, even with Coburn, but he can play a lot of minutes.

Hakstol noticed, too. His ice time dropped as the game went on, only getting 5 shifts and 3:28 in the 3rd.

If that rumored price is true, I think it shows that they want to re-sign him and would only move him if a team bowled them over with an offer, such as 2 2nds.

The Ghost-is-fixing-AMac theory would be more plausible if MacDonald have didn't overall good possession numbers last season outside of the time he spent with Grossmann. He could be playing with Streit or Gudas right now and be doing just as well.

However, I think a Schultz-Mac pairing would be bad in much the same way Grossmann-MacDonald was bad.
