If you can get Gelly straightened out defensively he will end up being a really nice addition. He played too soft in NJ but I think he was also always afraid to make a mistake. We totally jerked him in and out of the lineup too much.

Yeah, avs need some gritin the back end but also a shutdown defender. Gelly looks okay, love the shot, which I think they plan to use on the second unit of PP. Buy Roy will give him a shot, they did trade for him. So he has got 15 games to show case what he has.

Hoping the lines next year are:
Ej-barrie
Beau-zads/brigas
Gally- zads/brigas
Holden/redmond

Though I see then keeping holden with barrie until zads us a main stay in the line up. First 20 he could be in out of line up till he is established. Once that happens him and Beau can be a good shut down physical line.

I like what I see out of him, raw potential, hell of a shot & can a clean break out pass. Issue for me is that he doesnt move his feet all the time, and can become stagnant puck watching. That can be corrected though. Not the best skater to begin with so if he is constantly moving, he will become way more effective.

Its eerie how they are the same guy but I think Gelinas has a bit more pedigree to him that he could improve. Holden is what he is, just an average 3rd pairing guy.

At least Gelinas could be a PP weapon with that shot, but dont see him being much of a Top 4 potential guy.

Holden at least can be a mean SOB...just dont like the idea of combining them both on the 3rd pair next year, need someone with more speed
