He's put up points, but he really hasn't played great. Still, happy for him that he's helping a team and has a shot at another Stanley Cup. - Jsaquella
he's been solid, he's buying into the system, very few miss steps considering and has been contributing way beyond expectatations. He is Stolls replacement but a huge improvement, his ice time shows that. He has been good on faceoffs and solid in the D zone. Any negative criticism is by people that are not watching his game with the Kings. I am stoked he he working out and I'm glad that he will help the flyers by coming off their books. |

interesting idea about putting cameras at the blue lines for the playoffs.
1980 just called......ah, (frank) that. people outside the (frank)ing nassau mausoleum could see it was off. |

how many roster spots do they have? they just signed that kid from maine to an ATO. i don't think that takes up a slot. - hammarby31
According to General Fanager they 5 spots open or only 45/50 ...junior kids are exempt apparently. |

Chicago is too good to continue being as bad as they have been recently. Huge test coming for us. |

That Maine kid seems like an AHL depth signing tops. But I could see the Flyers really going for Caggiula. It helps we have his coach for his first 3 years -- it's not everything, but certainly Hakstol might have a slight pull. What I've heard of him sounds intriguing: LW with serious wheels and highlight reel abilities, improved every year. He's not a depth signing -- kid has definite NHL potential. |

I'm more likely to take the word of a Kings fan who watches Vinny every night, then the casual watcher who pretends they know exactly what's going on with Vinny on a nightly basis. Sorry it didn't workout. Sucks he wasn't given a fair shake or at least placed in a useful role. At the sametime, I'm excited that we can now move forward.
Although it is hard to believe Cinny has a two way game as strong as Jarrod Stoll's. |

perhaps, BUT the flyers are desperate and generally playing good hockey. i like our chances, especially if jake is back in the lineup.
the hawks are not in serious danger of falling out of a playoff spot with a 14 point lead on minnesota and 12 games to go, so there's really no sense of urgency for them. - hammarby31
Hawks haven't been playing well of late anyhow, just hope they wake up after Wednesday |

He's started out shooting at a high success rate, with horrible underlying numbers. Bug issue here, he'd have ten game spurts, then disappear. From December 2014-January 2015 he had a run similar to his run after immediately jponing the Kings-shooting at a high rate, awful possession numbers with high OZ starts and honestly failed the eye test-he looked slow and unsteady on D. The scoring dried up and he was a liability.
I have watched quite a few Kings games, and most of the scoring he has provided was the kind of scoring he did tonight-wide open net, Johnny on the spot. Granted, he's producing, so it's not as if the bad underlying stats have become an issue, but the Kings also have the ability to shelter him more than the Flyers did. In terms of strictly the eye test he hasn't looked great or awful-just a guy most shifts and scores an occasional tap in
I'm happy some Kings fans are happy with him. I know quite a few that aren't, despite the production. I'm more happy he's off the Flyers roster to clear space for the kids and most importantly clear cap room in the future. |

Since the turn of the New Year, the Flyers are a top 4 team in the East. They have played well against teams good and bad. |

Some contracts-Provorov, Sanheim, Konecny & Fazleev-are slide deals, that don't count to the 50 |

they have. the slow start (5-8-3 iirc) and bad shootouts are what has them on the bubble. i'm really encouraged by their compete level overall, especially considering the continuous string of injuries to key players - mdz, coots, g and jake...and yet here we are on the brink.
it's just great to have meaningful games to look forward to at this stage of the season. it feels like the playoffs as much as it can without being a playoff game. i'm just enjoying the ride. |

They have had a couple bad stretches that have them in a tight spot. That said, I think they may arrive sooner than I expected. Depending on how some kids progress and what Hexy does in summer, I think they're a playoff team next year |

gost has obviously had a HUGE impact. it's undeniable. cousins has done a really nice job since getting the call. laughton doesn't seem to be hurting them, and schenn and coots have taken that next step. and of course the goaltending has been more than solid. they've got a lot going for them now, and hopefully will next year too with another injection of youth and skill. i'm very, very optimistic about our future.
and they could be a playoff team this year. if so, it's just gravy. or is that sauce? |

Gravy. I think they have a good chance. At the very least making the playoffs is basically in their own hands. They don't need a bunch of teams to fold or start losing, so long as they keep pace and win the head to heads vs Detroit & Pittsburgh.
But in terms of time line, I expected a PO miss this year and to be where they are now next year. The vets and kids are playing well. They've done an excellent job in puck support and playing in the NZ. They have gotten the outstanding goaltending they have all year and last year.
Get Voracek back, continue to get the balanced scoring and excellent all around play as a team, and they could be the low seed that makes the higher teams sweat their balls off. |

they'd give any team a run for their money - even washington - if they can continue their current level of play. i certainly wouldn't expect them to win the round, but you never know. that's why they play the games.
speaking of balanced scoring, gagner, who was basically written off in the middle of the year is really contributing. he was signed for exactly this reason. hopefully he can continue. |
