Mike Babcock sent John Scott a message supporting him. #Shocker. That arrogant piece of poop trolling for a headline. Playing the media

Dear Mike Babcock...The game is great, the nets are fine. You think you are bigger than the game, but you aren't. Shut up. Period.

Leafs fans...just know that THE biggest piece of poop on earth is the face of your franchise.

2 things I know. The Wings are winning this game...and the Biggest piece of poop on the Planet is Mike Babcock.

I'm just gonna go with the statement being overblown. It's like Bill Cowher being a fan of Carolina, but that doesn't mean he didn't want to beat them when he was the Steelers' coach. Most NHLers were a fan of a certain team growing up, but it doesn't mean they want the team they play for to lose to them.

Mostly it's me giving myself another reason to dislike Babcock knowing he's cheering for a team fighting with the Flyers to get into the playoffs.

I've got no issue with Babcock. I think he's a very good coach, and he
s never had any direct impact on the successes/failures of the Flyers.

I know 2Real is going to eat that comment alive.

Still A Soft Spot
Babcock earned his first win in Detroit since leaving the Red Wings for the Leafs last summer but he suggested there’s still a piece of Hockeytown in his heart.

“I like to win,” Babcock said. “But to be honest with you I’m cheering for Detroit. Detroit’s important for me.

“For anybody who’s involved here, they want to keep getting in the playoffs. So I’m cheering for them every night that they don’t play us.”

ho hum

Much ado about nothing.

I do agree with Mike Commodore on one point, though: enough with the John Scott already.

1) While the rest of the team took an off-day to participate in the 39th edition of the Flyers' Wives Carnival at the Wells Fargo Center, Jakub Voracek skated briefly during the day according to general manager Ron Hextall.

Jake also spoke about skating yesterday during an interview shown on the TV broadcast of the carnival.

He also joked that the team had been playing so well that he was worried about being a healthy scratch.

If it came down to VDV and Jake for one spot, he might be a healthy scratch.

I guess it could be laughts. Haven't really noticed his ineffective play looking at recent numbers. I think the team needs his speed on the wing tho. If Hak wanted to go that route I'd do a read-cousins-gagner third line

Can you please explain to me how we're 5 points back of Detroit?

Weal came off IR today, but teams can have extra guys on the roster after the deadline if they fit under the cap. So they don't have to demote any one, or put Voracek on IR like I thought they would.

Babcock isn't allowed to pull for his former team. He should say how much he hates them and regrets ever being a part of the organization.

I think it should be VDV, but I know it won't be. I think Gagner and Cousins have played well enough to remain in the lineup. Flyers are getting the secondary scoring now they so desperately lacked earlier in the season. Gagner and Cousins have played a big part in that.

Well I thought they would beat Toronto at home. What an absurd assumption.

Seton Hall won 25 games, and the Big East tourney. Thought they would do better than a # 6 seed. Tough draw getting Gonzaga in round 1. SHU is actually an underdog in the game.

Hey Bill, awesome stuff as always!
I have been following the progression of our prospects closer this year than any other before. Watching games at all levels (JR, AHL, NCAA (Madsen), NHL, IIHF)...

I also love hearing from scouts and national hockey figures. Craig Button is one of the best at giving his input on social media, and even interacting and answer questions. This weekend he entered into several different Q&A exchanges focused extensively on Flyers prospects. He mentioned Provorov being elite, high high end, and really worth the wait. Gave a comparison of Serge Savard and said he thinks he is capable of playing next year with the Flyers. Reallly likes the kid.

Also gave rave reviews for Myers saying that nagging injuries last year really never game him a shot to show what he was capable of and compared him to a Colton Parayko or Marco Scandella type d-man.

What do you think of his assessments?
