Seton Hall (Pirates) beat Villanova (Wildcats) for the Big East championship on Saturday. He seemed to like my post so I wondered if he was a Pirate fan or just a Wildcat hater.

FlySkippy and I are SHU alumnae.

It is nice that two teams from Philly made the Tournament this year though

Actually, it's three teams (at least, I think so...):
Villanova
Temple
St.Joe's

I think it should be VDV, but I know it won't be. I think Gagner and Cousins have played well enough to remain in the lineup. Flyers are getting the secondary scoring now they so desperately lacked earlier in the season. Gagner and Cousins have played a big part in that.
- PLindbergh31

I don't think any forward has played poorly enough to get scratched over the last 5-10 games. However, someone will have to sit. I think sitting VDV would work. You could put Raffle on the 4th line and be better 5 on 5.

I do think it will be Laughton that sits though. Not my choice but I think the coach will go that way.

Seton Hall won 25 games, and the Big East tourney. Thought they would do better than a # 6 seed. Tough draw getting Gonzaga in round 1. SHU is actually an underdog in the game.
- PLindbergh31

Yeah, they probably should've been a 4/5 seed. They flew under the radar all year and the Big East isn't a premier conference anymore so I get it, but don't like it.

I would keep the current top line together. They were put together even before Jake's injury and Schenn has been our best player in the new calendar year.

I would be moving Raffl to the 4th line and scratching VDV, but go Fighting Sioux.

No, he was right. Radnor is not Philadelphia any more than Camden is Philadelphia.

Yeah. I'm with you. I like SHU. Willard has done a great job. Hard nose team. Bunch of City kids who are tough as nails.
Was way into that great Final 4 run 1989. Friggin John Clougherty. How does Rumeal Robinson a career 65% ft shooter, make 9-10 in the Championship game? Unreal.

Why can't vdv be scatched

I understand he's solid defensively, but he's an utter scrub when the puck hits his stick. Laughton has looked better at wing, and has MUCH more offensive capability, and that much is clear as day. #getridofvande

Seems like a moot point for tomorrow, Voracek isn't practicing. Guess his brief skate yesterday didn't go well.

It's just not worth talking about at this point. Hak isn't going to do it. He is a top PK for him. I would not scratch him to move raffl to that line. Has everyone forgotten about what raffl-coots-schenn looked like together? Dominant.

Put Jake on the top line and pick one of gagner or laughton for the 3rd line

Voracek needs to replace VDV in the lineup. Raffl goes down and takes his spot

Yeah for sure. I'm sure they took another x-ray of his foot before he skated. They haven't announced the injury, but Eskin reported it was a fracture. I wouldn't think 2 weeks would be enough time for a fracture to heal even if it wasn't bad.

Edit:

Stick taps for Voracek as he arrives late at practice.

Still A Soft Spot
Babcock earned his first win in Detroit since leaving the Red Wings for the Leafs last summer but he suggested there’s still a piece of Hockeytown in his heart.

“I like to win,” Babcock said. “But to be honest with you I’m cheering for Detroit. Detroit’s important for me.

“For anybody who’s involved here, they want to keep getting in the playoffs. So I’m cheering for them every night that they don’t play us.”

ho hum

Much ado about nothing.

I do agree with Mike Commodore on one point, though: enough with the John Scott already.

the real question is does he wear a leafs hat during interviews?
