2 things:
1-Villanova ball is the best college program we, in the Philly area, have to cheer for. We should be proud of Nova. Also, great great school-so beat it haters.
2-Provorov is going to be INSANE. He'll probably win at least 1 norris trophy.

Hey Bill, awesome stuff as always!
I have been following the progression of our prospects closer this year than any other before. Watching games at all levels (JR, AHL, NCAA (Madsen), NHL, IIHF)...
I also love hearing from scouts and national hockey figures. Craig Button is one of the best at giving his input on social media, and even interacting and answer questions. This weekend he entered into several different Q&A exchanges focused extensively on Flyers prospects. He mentioned Provorov being elite, high high end, and really worth the wait. Gave a comparison of Serge Savard and said he thinks he is capable of playing next year with the Flyers. Reallly likes the kid.
Also gave rave reviews for Myers saying that nagging injuries last year really never game him a shot to show what he was capable of and compared him to a Colton Parayko or Marco Scandella type d-man.
What do you think of his assessments? - jak521

Yeah for sure. I'm sure they took another x-ray of his foot before he skated. They haven't announced the injury, but Eskin reported it was a fracture. I wouldn't think 2 weeks would be enough time for a fracture to heal even if it wasn't bad.

Stick taps for Voracek as he arrives late at practice. - PLindbergh31
It depends on what bone, where and how it was broken and if they were able to protect against it... If it was the base of the 5th met (Jones fx) a lot of times players are able to play through it (football players especially) and just have a screw put in at the end of the season. They are notorious slow healers and more often than not end up requiring surgery anyway. I figured he just had a bit of an ankle sprain from the collision in the net. |

Nice! Was a really fun team to follow. - PLindbergh31
On the other hand, the teams while I was an undergrad there weren't fun to follow. lol
But Walsh gym was still a tough place for opponents to play. And we got to see some great players and coaches come through - Ewing, Mullen, Washington, Seikely, Pinkney, Carneseca, Thompson, Boeheim, Massimino. Good times in that gym. |

And? Vast majority of people in this area consider Villanova a philly-area program. Who gives a poop if theyre street address says. The school is literally 5 min from St Joes. They also play at the WF center.
villanova is by far the best school and program this area has to offer too, besides UPenn..be proud bruh. |

I really don't see how he's the likely #1 pick this year. I watch a lot of Duke games and he plays young, is inconsistent, and scrawny as heck. lol |

Those are all easily fixable things. I think he's ahead of Simmonds. It has nothing to do with Simmonds attitude either. I just think he's the better prospect. |

Actually, it's three teams (at least, I think so...):
Villanova
Temple
St.Joe's - WhirlingDervish
Haters prefer to pretend greater Philadelphia is not Philadelphia. Thus his use of 2. |

Never understood guys being chapped about Nova. Rollie's gone. So no one's trying to kill the Big 5 any more.

I consider all three part of the Philly college sports scene.
If you're going to take a hard line on it, the only true Philly team is Temple as they are in the heart of the city. If St. Joe's were on the other side of the street (City Line Ave.), they'd be in Bala Cyncwyd, which is Delaware County, and 5 mins from Villanova. And while technically that is Philly by definition, in reality, it's the burbs.
BTW, I'm a Temple grad, but I root for all three! (unless they play Temple) |

Oh, I agree, but I just don't see him as being a #1 pick talent. I'm much less impressed by him than I was last year by Okafor, Jones, and Winslow. |

From a business standpoint, why would they want Temple in the Big East? It would cut into the media share and they would risk loosing recruits. Villanova did the right thing for themselves. |
