Yes. Win it in reg or Ot, and they're right there.. lose and it's a problem.. I am shocked that Toronto won last night's game in Detroit. holy favour.
As a side note, and not to jinx our playoff run, how funny would it be to knock Detroit out of the playoffs for the first time in 28 years as a sort of payback for 1997? I'd certainly like it! - Hextall271
it would be some consolation. (frank) that team. |

Yes...He then said people pretend that greater Philadelphia is not the same thing as Philadelphia:
"Haters prefer to pretend greater Philadelphia is not Philadelphia."
Thus implying that the greater Philadelphia = Philadelphia.
So (frank) you too. |

I don't care who gets (frank)ed as long as it is either Pittsburgh or Detroit. It would be nicest if they could both get bent and Carolina could sneak in after Philly. |

No team in the league I despise more than the dirtball Pens and their fair weather fans! I would love the Flyers to knock them out of the playoffs! - aantny88
Personally, that would be most satisfyling to me. All the short term moves just to make a run at a cup, and they are fighting for a playoff spot with us while Hexy rebuilds with our youth. Bodes well for the near future for us..
Oh well, I am sure Kunitz will make team canada at the WHC over Giroux so they have that! |

yes, greater philadelphia is largely considered philadelphia. Just like Brooklyn, Bronx, ect..are still NYC despite people only really thinking NYC=Manhattan. |

Love what Hexy is doing so far, Hartnell for Umberger swap not withstanding (though I understand why). D prospects are shaping up really nicely!
Giroux gets no love from the powers at be for Team Canada and they can go frack themselves...G only leads the league in scoring since 2010 and he isn't even a reserve? Give me a f'in break! |

that 2010 team was actually very good though and just underperformed much of that season..totally different situation. |

I agree except a goalie that didn't buckle under the pressure and a 3rd d pairing that wasn't useless...even minus those things, it took a fluke goal to beat them! |

What you need to understand about people from Philly is that they think everyone within 100 miles in every direction is "From" Philly. It especially comes out when you find out you don't root for one of their teams.

Where are you from?
Here's how I usually base it..
I am from Wallingford. When I was in Italy visiting my wife's family, I told people I was from Philadelphia or "just outside Philadelphia".
Does either really make a difference?
There likely isnt a soul in Italy who knows where the hell Wallingford is. Hell, they probably dont know where Pennsylvania is.
They know Philadelphia. |

what did everyone have for lunch today? I went pretty generic and did a tuna sandwich on 2 pieces of wheat bread and honey-siracha brussel sprouts |

I grew up in Brigantine as a Yankees fan. I constantly got, "what? Did you grow up in New York?" I would look at them like they were nuts and say, no, but I didn't grow up in Philadelphia either. Add to that, Phillies games were on Prism which was a pay channel, and the Yankees were on channel 11 for free.
I learned to have a healthy dislike for any citizen of Philadelphia the way they would come in to town like they owned the place. Loud, throwing trash everywhere, double parking in the middle of the street, and acting like they were in east Philly. Starting fights on the beach, in the bars, disturbing the neighbors at all hours of the night.
Add to that their stupid hoagies. They are called Subs here bumhole. |
